Short but intriguing.

Not bad for a really short demo. The setting and tone was nice, and the floor puzzle was pretty good too. There was no combat to speak of in the demo, so I can't really say anything about the balance or combat system itself. It's difficult to write a lengthy review on such a short piece, so I'll keep it simple.

The Good:

What little story the demo had was actually not too bad and set the tone nicely. It's always nice to see a dark futuristic game thrown into the mix with the rest of all the fantasy games, so points there. The maps were constructed well, too. No huge, empty, bland spaces to roam around in.

The Bad (bug reports):

I have both the MS Gothic and MS Mincho fonts installed and other RM* games display fine, but for some reason, this one had the jacked up squishy text. It was a little tough to read some of the dialogue.

The house to the right of the guy locked outside of his own place is messed up. You can walk onto the front door and from there step on the screen panel to the side of the door. Also, in the house that you actually can get into to the right of that, when you go upstairs and left into the first house I was talking about, you can find a ticket, but you can't leave out of the front door.

When you gain access to the stairs that the guard was blocking, on the first screen in the lower left there's a top of a pot there and you can walk underneath it. Just looks wrong.

When you access the computer in the conveyor belt section, when you input numbers, the computer's name in the box gets screwy. A symbol takes the place of the C in computer and it looks funny.

Finally, as a personal gripe, I think the character's walking animation should be locked while riding on conveyor belts. It just looks like they're running along, rather than being carried. This isn't an obvious flaw, just more of my personal opinion.

Conclusion:

Extremely short, but so far so good! This will be a real joy with more substance.

About the house with the ticket, you weren't supposed to be able to leave... I didn't really make it clear enough, but if you look outside, theres some junk in front of the door.

Thanks for the review!
