[RMMZ] Changing Battle Background on World Map[RMMV]

author=Marrend
What about a parallel process and terrain tags? Like, the theory in my head is that you can use the Get Location Info event-command, have it store the terrain tag into a variable, with the location designation being the player object. Then it could be a conditional branch based on the value of that variable, and a Change Battle Background from there.

That is what I was hoping for. I would actually prefer to do so through the numbers on the R tab, but at least terrain tabs are good. It's too bad that they can only be from zero to seven (0-7). Why not eight or nine (8-9)? How many ways are there to do this on the world map?

[RMMZ] Changing Battle Background on World Map[RMMV]

I am wondering how to change battle backgrounds on the world map in order to match it with the different terrain types. Basically, I want to know how to make different region of the map have different battle backgrounds. For example, on a world map: grasslands, forests, desert, tundra, mountains, would all have different battle backgrounds in RPG games. I know how to change backgrounds with events, but that sounds too hard to do on a world map, and different regions of a map in general. Are there any tutorials on this.

RPG Maker Collaborations

There will definitely two events in June. One for Pride Month, and another event to celebrate RMN's 17th birthday. The birthday event last year had a sweets theme, but, in previous years, users have been asked to make games in under X or less hours, where X was how old RMN was turning. Perhaps some other limitations as well. I don't know if that is what's happening this year, but, if an event like that is being run, that'd translate to 17 hours of dev time.

What kind of games do they make there, if any? Are there any other places where people work together on RPG Maker games? I also participate on the Discord server for RPG Maker programs. I think it might be related to this site in particular. What about contests, are there any of those?

Joining events is the best way to build your skills and get to work with potential partners for future projects.

Sadly, i'm not fond of the current even right now. How frequently do they appear? What people are interested in teaming up next time?

Now, if you offer money, well...that's a whole other conversation.

I thought of that before. Since I donated on Discord a few months ago, I don't feel like doing that again at the moment.

I think the responses here are a bit harsh, but then again I haven't had to deal with multiple instances of attempted team projects that end up getting cancelled, and if I was in that situation I'd be much more skeptical and critical.

Thanks for the help. Right now I only uploaded one project, but have cancelled projects several times before. All by myself, I only have little chances on completing a single project. I have some practicing to do, I have yet to complete testing my Steam resources. I was hoping to start on taking advice from others who are interested in custom RPGs. I have brought up the issue before and received some advice, but I still wonder if people are interested in collaborations just in general.

RPG Maker Collaborations

I have already cancelled a game here :
https://rpgmaker.net/games/11880/

The only project I started so far was just for practice. I havn't named any specific game ideas. Some of the screenshots in the above game were added less than a month ago. I am mostly asking for advice, mostly about getting started and planning the game, and where to start. I would think a few of the games here were made by more than one person, as they can be quite advanced at times.

I don't know why your so angry at me for.

RPG Maker Collaborations

No, I have never completed a game. Although I have made countless attempts, but then end up quitting in the end. I havn't even managed to create a demo even. I was wondering if anybody online is interested in a virtual team up. I'm sure most games, even demos, have been made by more than one person. I assume most of them have met up in real life. I was thinking of doing so virtually. I am currently practicing RPGMZ. I have a lot of ideas and I want to make an episodic game with two long episodes or many shorter ones.

RPG Maker Collaborations

Are there any people in joining together for an RPG Maker projects? How do people work together on these anyways?

[RMMZ] Party Members Temporary

author=all4i
There's a point in the story of the game I'm making where some powerful people temporarily join the party for a small dungeon. They have some good gear, and I don't want the player to take the gear for themselves. Is there some sort of plugin I can use that makes the player unable to alter a party member's equipment?

Doing this is easy and requires no plugins. Lock Equip is how to do it as someone has already said. But not only can that easily be done, but characters can be set to be controlled by the AI as well. What I am wondering is what RPGMZ means by "reserved party members" and their experience points.
