Pun loving Canadian, friendly neighbourhood "Ace", and Narrative Designer at Nine Dots Studios.
I've been a huge fan of RPGs (especially turn based ones) since I was young, and it warms my hearts to be able to make RPGs that other people can enjoy.

Misaos 2020 - Discussion Topic

Going to try and have more review events this year that are aimed at games made this year and nominating misaos.
That would be great, actually.
The review/nominate drive year before last got me to go and try stuff that was under-reviewed, and led to me finding Turovero: The Celestial Tower, which REALLY deserved that music award it won.

Pretty much this. A game needs at least two nominations to be able to proceed into the voting period. Even then, getting The game with no name to acquire the minimum 2 nominations was a last-minute thingby me, no less.
So we almost did not get even a single Event Game in the Misaos this year?
That is just...That's really sad. :(
(Maybe I'm biased, as I do most of my Gam Mak during Events. Still, Events are great little incubators for bite sized games, so it's sad that they got so ignored this year)

Saddest thing is that that was the second time I tried to kick it off the ground and get it working. Same issue first time around. :<
It's a tragedy, honestly. :(
It's such a fun idea, I don't know why there was so little interest.
I'd offer to make a whole load of extra houses to fill in more content and help "complete" the game if that wouldn't go against the point of a community-made game. XD

This is the curse of running an event game. All eyes on you, all eagerly waiting for you to bring them what you promised. It can be frightening.
(Also when you know that libby took years to finish a valentines game so you're doing fine by comparison)
You know, this takes me back to that halloween collab event you ran 2 years ago, and how incredibly sad I am that not enough people participated for it to amount to anything. :(
It had such an awesome little concept, it deserved better.
Goaling it 2021
My only resolution for the last 6 or so years has been the same: "Keep trying to be the best me I can be"
Trying to make a serious goal, especially a game dev goal, is only a source of stress, guilt and typically doesn't even lead to the goal happening.
Why make a resolution I'm not gonna meet and is just going to stress me out? :P

I've more or less made my peace with the fact that my games aren't going to light the world on fire, but have a very dedicated (and somewhat quiet) fanbase. :P

What are you even talking about? It's like you're seeing things that aren't there, or creating your own fiction of what the games are actually about without actually playing them.
...........I think this might be a bot that's trawling our links and interspersing it with random internet headlines or something. 0_o
Edit: Or maybe he's a doom prophecy guy who is trying to search the pages for some kind of clue towards current events and some apocalypse he's imagining???
