AEROFUNK80'S PROFILE

There are two things I love: video games and writing. I've enjoyed writing stories since I was very young, and I'm an 80/90's kid, so my childhood was Atari, NES and SNES. I wanted to go to school for video game design, but that's not where life took me. When I discovered RPG Maker, it allowed me to take my two passions and fuse them together. I absolutely love creating fantasy worlds, writing the lore and developing characters. I do lack the artistic creativity and plugin knowledge, but I like to think I make up for that in storytelling. I love the old school RPG's where they gripped us with great stories: Final Fantasy 2&3, Chrono Trigger, Lufia and Secret of Mana to name a few. Tales of Yuria is my way to tell the first chapter of the world I've been creating for years.

PAX East Anyone?

Anyone going to PAX East this month? Or any gaming conventions in 2019?

I went to PAX East last year and it was the most amazing thing ever. The major devs had some good games but the indie devs were amazing. I'm starting to get really excited for this year and thought I'd see if anyone else was too.

Flatwoods

I wish I had that type of artistic ability. Amazing artwork and animation. Loved the video. I'll be trying your game tonight :-)

Shooty and the Catfish: Episode 1 - Mushroom Madness

LOVE the video :-) Great animation. I need to try this game out.

Congrats on becoming a Hidden Gem!

... Uh... Is the dragon, Cynder, or Cinder? It's the former, on the main page?

Thanks Malandy! Cynder and Cinder are the same dragon. Just different spellings. :-)

@Liberty: thanks for that, will give it a try soon
@AeroFunk80: the game has shut itself down twice now, I don't understand why. I am not in the middle of the battle and I only open 1 browser with 1 tab. No error message, no nothing, just closes itself down :(
Hope you can have a fix soon, thank you :)

I apologize. That one I haven't heard of. So the game just shuts down with no error message? I'm not an expert when it comes to the technical side of things, but do you know how much RAM you have? Not saying that's the issue. I'm curious if this has happened to anyone else, though...

This looks fantastic! :-)

Tales of Yuria: The Dragon God

So... what have I learned from posting my first game? :-)

1) While I tested it many times, I have so many different options and side quests in my game, I missed a few bugs (sad face). So apparently it needed more thorough testing before posting. Sorry about that. Going forward, I will be recruiting volunteer testers to be more thorough and avoid this from happening on future projects and uploads.

2) I actually took all those animations out (or thought I did) but missed the mage at The Crossroads. I'll actually do what you suggested in the event I have another NPC hidden somewhere with the same issue.

Thanks again everyone for the patience and reporting these issues. I'll correct via Liberty's suggestion above and post another update. I'll have that up tonight!

Free Game Artwork?

You can also try googling "Creative Commons" and/or "Public Domain" artwork. There's a lot of collections, albeit most of them either older things or stock photos.

Good luck!

Thanks Sooz. Appreciate the feedback and help :-) I'll try those out.

Free Game Artwork?

LOL I just now realized my post does sound like I'm asking for a hand out. :-) Sorry.

If I find something I really like, I am willing to pay. I'm doing a short storybook scene and was only curious if there was a resource out there that did offer artwork that people could use by giving credit.

After looking on Deviant Art, I did come across a few artists that give permission to use their artwork if you message them and explain what you'd be using it for. I've already had one get back with me OK with it since it's for a non-commercial project and I'd be putting his name/Deviant Art link in my credits. So that's one, I guess ;-)

However; there are a few I really like and have considered paying for them :-) I'm just looking to see if I do have other options before I pay. That's all.

Thanks for the links Grindalf. Kory... sorry, I mean artwork similar to what you posted. Just something to use during a storybook scene/the intro to my game.

Free Game Artwork?

Looking for some pictures for my opening scene, and I was curious where everyone goes to get free artwork to use? It's a non-commercial game, and I need some to use during the opening story scene. I love Deviant Art, but most of that is commissioned or permission hasn't been given by the user.

Just curious if anyone knows of any good fantasy websites?
