Becoming a pixel artist
Me and my peers are always trying to do pixel art, this is one of the best pixel-art tutorials as it goes deep into detail and lists some concepts that I've never heard of before.

Pixel art is, yeah like painting and sculpting. It should get to the point where any pixel you do affects the whole image. Also to add, Pixel art takes a long time, it's a commitment.
Lastly, I recommend graphics gale for any pixel artist :)

Can I use game music in my game
I'm not entirely too sure about using my own music on my projects. Maybe for Lets play but not distributing it since you'll always find some foreign person on youtube using your Original Rpgmaker OST for their Intro to their youtube page and then you'll probably explode into rage.
As for using commercial game music, I'm kinda here and there on that with using it in my projects especially if the company gives you some Cease and Desist Letter or sues you, but hey, that's what VGMusic midis are there for!
