ARANDOMGAMEMAKER'S PROFILE

The story pretty much saved the game in my opinion. If the story wasn't good then everyone would bash it even more.

You know what, here's a mini review of nitpicks I have of it.

-Linear. Really, Square? No exploration at all for 80% of the game? This is the most glaring flaw of the game.

-Battles. They are way too slow. A mini-cutscene for every paradigm shift is awful. I just want to play!

-Hope. He can go burn in hell. He is easily one of the most annoying characters I have ever seen in a Final Fantasy game. The whole "Oh my mom died because of Snow I'm going to kill him eventually" thing gets extremely old extremely fast. After he finally stops being stupid I really can't forgive him because he's still annoying.

-Crystasium leveling. It takes AGES to reach a level decent enough to actually stand a chance. Why do so many games do this? It really doesn't do anything for the game other then making you mad.

-Money. Another glaring flaw in the game. It takes an eternity to earn any money. Why do I have to sell stuff for money? Why can't I just, y'know, earn money?

...and that's about it. Most of this was fixed in 13-2 in exchange for the story. (Which was better for an actually fun game, in my opinion.)

Oh UPRC, you should really beat FF13. The final bosses's first phase is epic.
