So I just read through the game comments. Am I the only person who didn't die to the strength zone zombie on my first pass? :D

I didn't. But I spent most of the fight Healing and Turtling. And then he ran out of Sp, and the fight became a cake-walk. >>

Lunatic Maul? You mean Ghastly Rend? True, but that requires sleep to actually stick. With +4 energy generation, it can only be cast twice per turn, and it was failing more often than not for me against the angels -- and when it did work, it wore off almost immediately. I found it just proved to be a waste of sanity.

It's not that sleep is wearing off quickly, It's that the enemies work like -you- in the sense that they can dispell sleep and insanity with buffs/heal spells. >> Either way, Sleep might take 2 energy, but Ghastly rend takes 1...and as long as you don't make the girl who has ghastly rend cast sleep, she'll have an ample amount of energy ready to dump it on the poor sleeping victim. That, in tandem with power and crit boost winds up with a -very- dead enemy. >>

Slumber point -never- stops being game breaking (or at least severely dangerous).
Huh, really? I found it to be a waste of AP in the Angelis battle and ditched it soon after. I guess that was premature.

Slumber Makes the Lunatic Maul shit~ And is also how I beat those angels so early on =).

Y'all're off about the Devourer.

let him eat Serenity and he'll deal half damage

...Really? I...can't remember which one that is~ What's the effect again?

By the way, what's up with The Ordeal? Is he supposed to be like a bonus boss, or something? He's fairly close to the starting area, so you can fight him early on, but he's much more powerful than the typical enemies at that point. He was the last boss I fought before the final one, I think, but by that point he was pretty easy.

Also: Personally, I feel like I got a bit overwhelmed with spells and gifts in the late game. Too few slots; I felt like I could never really use them all. Slumber Point and Insanity, in particular, got the shaft pretty early on once they stopped being gamebreaking. Adding more slots would probably be overpowered, though. Might be something to consider if you're going to be adding even more in the expanded Etalon, though.

Slumber point -never- stops being game breaking (or at least severely dangerous). Especially with the dark user, if you have the item that turns all your damage into dark damage (And have stacked dark damage).

Just Spam maul, when you have the boost that gives you extra AP. With a damage and crit boost up, she typically just -devours- things hp. And they take extra hp, and get crit more, since they're asleep . . . And Don't wake up- letting you stack other status effects and buffs on your teammates, with impunity. >>

Seriously, Check the spell/Item combination I was using with my team, and try it out. it's hilarious. >> And for the -very- few things that can't be slept. You just switch to barrage and -laaaaugh- (Maybe douse something so Carmanth can kill it even -faster-).

and fighting Yellow/Indigo/Red was one of the most entertaining battles in any game I've played.
This was the hardest fight in the game for me by far.

Spoilers as to what happens during the boss fight:
She tells him to shut the fuck up, then starts AOE nuking the party. >> I can only assume he dies in the first volley, given she seems pretty smug after that. Hah. Anyways, you basically outlast her attempt to murder you/beat her- and her being an entity of chaos, she decides to whimsically help you afterwards.

Ending spoilers:

If you left anyone alive in the castle after beating the final boss, try fighting them with Delilah instead of Francisco. In a few cases the dialogue is radically different.

...God. Damnit. Now I have to somehow figure out a way to kill Delilah before anyone else. :<

Fun! I second pretty much everything that everyone else has said.

I also managed to beat the final boss so quickly it broke the story. I tried fighting her once early on, just to see how strong she was, then came back after I achieved 100% completion. I didn't even use Shooting Star or Cryostasis! Just Pyroclasm, which is really broken. After I wounded the final boss, slapped her with every ailment I had, and buffed Carmanth a bit, I got two criticals in a row, both breaking 5-digit damage.

Trying to simply survive so I could wait out the full conversation ended with me getting utterly destroyed, though. Funny how that works.

Personally, I thought the Angelis trio was the hardest fight for me. The Usurper was also quite difficult -- very clever idea there, by the way! I'm also kind of confused on how to beat the Devourer -- Francisco tells you to "feed" it something, but I can't think of any buff that would hurt it in any way. And there are no ways to purposefully debuff yourself, as far as I know. The only way I won was by blitzing it with Shooting Star abuse.

>> Yeah. That's how I lost on the last boss too. Holding back so I could hear dem story tidbits. (And the music. Haha- Ah. Haaaah >>;) I liked the banter in her boss fight, it gave me warm fuzzies. Like a certain virrain Antagonist in Chain of Retribution did. *g*.

And yes. The most damage I ever did in the game with a single shot was pyroclasm. I hit someone for 35-8 k damage with it. -BUT- a pure Crit chain with shooting star, and the gear set-up I mentioned above was doing just absurd damage -per- hit...Which outstripped even that >.@.

Also. I didn't have shooting star when I fought the angels. They were actually the -first- big boss I fought. Suffice to say, it was a frantic fight that took -alot- of retries. >> Them, the sleep boss guy (Who I kept trying to kill upon the first time meeting him, and kept failing until I finally wandered off) ....Aaand, The Indigo, yellow, red trio were what killed me the most.

>> Incidentally, of that lot, It was the sleep guy I managed to kill first- and his spell helped prevent me from being overwhelmed. (And helped a certain character viciously maul faces).

Yes, I totally didn't see the shit with the usurper boss coming. >> I got him with poison and Madness, in the end :3.

Oh. And by the by. As to the devourer boss
He instantly kills people who don't have buffs on them. Basically, his damage seems to go down according to how many buffs are -on- a person. So as long as you can keep the party buffed and healed, he'll never be able to kill you =). I caught onto that fact During the rematch~

Anyways, I died the first time around, dragging out the fight for as much dialogue as possible. Pretty sure I got to hear all of it.

As for the second match? ...Well, Carmanth was built with a Fairy Queen, Melisandre, Dondarrion, Lilith's need... Aaand. Pyroclasm, Blow away, shooting stars, and spasm. >> With the Amount of solar and crit stacking I had- With some helping from the luck and damage buff? Yeah. I melted through the bosses hp. Especially since I found the gain 4 energy a turn prize =D.

Nyn was no slouch, either, and was actually my major dps until I gained shooting star.
She was geared with Lovecrafter, King Kazma, Polar Star, And Derek & Walsh, and the Shadow meld, Cryostasis, Frozen Throne, and High Tide spells (Which was lovely for both more Lunar stacking, and making Carmanth do more damage). Basically, Derek and walsh to make all my attacks do lunar damage, then just boosting my crit and lunar damage through the roof. >> If it wasn't sleep resistant, I'd sleep it, then maul it. And if it -was- I'd just toss the damage and luck buff on her, and Debuff my enemies luck...before hosing it with bullets. <_<

(Really, Those luck and damage buffs were -always- on Nyn, and later, on Carmanth.)

...Argent was just a heal tank. With Never fall...and 5100 HP before that buff is applied. >>

Anyways, Statting rambling aside- It was a kick ass game, Craze, and I would love to see it expanded upon with a bonus area, or... something. I dunno.
