Star Child Review

Thanks for the review! You always flatter me so much in them OTL

As for the bug, if you try to use the arrow keys while the mouse is hovering over the screen, it'll screw up your selection, so I think that's just an MV issue (can't think of anything else that would cause this problem)

Inazuma did 99% of the art that you see in the game, save for a handful of things!

Another five star review!? Wow…this game continues to still break ground even after months after it’s done. Very nice.

Although…judging by the scoring system given here, I’m a little bit confused why it ultimately ended up getting a 5 out of 5, considering the gameplay section got a 3.5 and the art and music sections got a 2 out of 5. Wouldn’t that lower the overall score down just a wee bit because of that???

Anyways…good review, AtlasAtrium. You’ve done good here.

Ah, if I were judging the game for a contest or something the overall score would tank - however, my final score is ultimately dependent on how worthwhile I felt the experience was and as mentioned in the review, this is one of the most fun RM games I've played yet!

In short, the independent scores are for other people, the concluding score is for me :D

Umbral Soul Review

As much as I love diabolical ploys, this review was unfortunately not in the heart of the game, if you know what I mean ;j

Jokes aside, I've been in a very reflective state regarding my own works for the longest time since I'm naturally drawn to making games that are much more slow paced - while I am comfortable with that style, I've always been envious of people who could make a fun, thrilling ride from start to finish and I think that seeing your work has helped me to understand how to better achieve that goal!

Seriously, if you're free I'd love to chat with you sometime! Heheh.
(Though to do that you would have to be alive, EMT is already on its way so try to cling to consciousness for like 10 more minutes, give or take)

Prom Dreams: A High School Love Story Review

It's okay I know exactly how you feel, I was the same way with my early games but now that it's been a while since then, I keep reminding myself not to take stuff like that so personally (though a lot of it was less actual criticism and more a general 'you suck at writing and your plot is stupid' kinda deal and other things of that caliber, but I think I've gotten better at ignoring those).

Prom Dreams: A High School Love Story Review

Ah, well I wouldn't take the words of an outlier to heart too much, since most folks seemed to have enjoyed a lot of the points that I otherwise criticized.

Hm I see your point with Neela, though for Maggie it was less about whether or not she would actually do it, but the possibility that she could as a high risk liability.

I can't speak for your experiences so I'll take your word for it on the dialogue, though maybe it was just the framing of it all that was throwing it off for me. And like you say, I don't mean for it to apply to all of the dialogue (though there are probably better ways I could've worded it).

Dolores' melodrama is its own kind of fun and I can see why people liked it, it's just that personally I felt like the game would've benefited from more nuance given the circumstances (again, very subjective).

And I'm sorry you feel that way about your art! I think you're on the right track with it, if you could work digitally and smoothed out those lines, I think you might have something you can use if you keep at it! (then again, I tend not to care that much even if a game does happen to have less quality art but I see your concern). It's good that you're commissioning artists though, that's nice to hear.

The review came off harsher than I intended, I did actually find it an interesting and compelling experience despite all of my complaints (rip) I hope your new game goes well, knowing your style I'm sure a lot of people will love it!

A Drop of Life Review

*Just as an additional note, there actually is a 3rd 'happy ending' route that requires a bit of backtracking, which unlocks a new party member, bonus equipment and abilities, a few more bosses, and the final dungeon!

Follow the Darkness Review

Aha thanks for reviewing this piece of junk! I'm kind of surprised people are still digging it up ^^;

Arris feels like the hero the modern world needs: someone who's given up her moral code to finally put an end to the bullshit.
There are already a lot of people like that, though. Most recent one made themselves known this week in Manchester.

well, let's not do this...

Follow the Darkness Review

Alright, I know this isn't a very good game but I do have a few things that I'd still like to comment on:

-The game's brief run time was because I restricted myself to a 2-week development schedule as it was meant to be a short one-off while I took a break from my main projects
-Everything points to Rina's actions as being a huge mistake, which is why it ended the way it did - nobody was left with a happy ending, and there was going to be no justification for it whether or not she took the time to bother to research and then stalk an alleged criminal in her neighborhood
-The knife comment was a small hint that the nature of the pursuer changes - this was made more clear when it is revealed that the murder weapon was an axe (this time around)

Everything else that was mentioned was because I didn't put in the time to make it a better game. That said, I don't actually have any complaints about the score you gave, but I felt like throwing my few cents in.
