DEEP 8 now "free to play"

I hope this gets a broad release however possible! It's still one of the most technically impressive Rm2k3 games ever made.

I have mixed feelings about the fact that it's "free" but the decision is totally understandable.

I'll have to get around to doing a full review at some point.

Steam NEXT Fest Demo

Grats on the demo release! It's really reccomended by a lot of indie devs that you keep the demo around for at least 2 additional weeks because I find a lot of people will download a bunch of demos and not get around to all of them til later but also it gives youtubers/streamers time to record/edit a video and I find those tend to give the best post-festival boosts.

Despite my reservations, it seems the demo is having a positive effect. Even now, the wishlists are steadily rising! So I am definitely open to negotiating with him to keep it uploaded a while longer, lol.

Btw, looking forward to your thoughts in particular Darken.

Excellence in Narrative - Pacing

I've always felt the opposite in terms of "On-screen interaction" feeling excessive.

A lot of RPGMaker games have the opposite problem... they suffer from too LITTLE happening on-screen, not too much.
Letting the sprites animate and have true movement during cutscenes helps them feel more alive... even if it's just their eyes blinking, or walking back and forth while a new dialogue box appears.

I mean, I agree it can be overdone, but that's simply not something I've seen very often. xD

It's still a little bit off on the horizon. I'm hoping for Winter 2022 or March 2023 at the earliest (we wanna avoid the Holiday rush, heh).

But still, it's feeling closer than it ever has before!
