author=unityActually she's inspired me to remix "funky Town" from midi. At the least I may be able to use it in MOG. I'll do my best with the Encampment, and try to make interesting without going too far outside the lines.author=LockeZThat's fine! Thanks for all of your help thus-far ^_^
Sorry, but I think I'm going to have to un-claim the Marison Docks. It's obvious at this point that I'm never actually going to do it.
One community game at a time seems to be the max I can handle. If Last King of Hyrule gets finished before Wyrm Warriors, I will try to come back and help more with this game's maps.
I am still willing to help with other things like gameplay for now, since that's a lot less draining to me. Just not maps.author=BurningTygerauthor=karins_soulkeeperdidn't gel, rather. I cantt see how it fits. As for Funky town, I could try to do something with it, or other songs 9"Night Fever" for example" could be used. Thuogh not soul, one of my remixes of "Rhainnn" might well be good for something..
BurningTyger> Jelling? ~Oh and my original plan was to use funky town, but that failed in epic proportions :(
Don't worry about finding the music for it; that'll be my job. I think ideally a sound-alike or such will work better than using the actual song, especially if its purely instrumental.

*grins at unity's Momo av* What's your favorite trick, unity?@ Karin:*frowns* It's not quite jelling for me; I'd love to hear what you did. nOW you've got me determined to make some kind of temple-like instrumental of the song . . As for me, I I'm under the weather right now, but will continue work on the Encampent, especially once I recover. I think I've got a general idea of what the layout will be and what kind of details will be included.

FYI hit a dry spell but am fully committed to encampment. Now if I could just get things to behave...

Thanks for the resources. I had been referring to this one, which resembles the DS examples, but think I'll probably be using this instead, among others; I intend the Elder's tent to stand out somehow.

*shrugs* not all in-game things make sense. I really liked how Breath of Fire III dealt with the desert though- it was better for your characters to travel at night, to conserve water and stay cool. I found a few tensts, some for ace, some for xp- can the latter work wiht the former? and wil get to work

author=LockeZthe image didn't show but the in-game ones for the bazaar/immigrant town did. *finds tents for both Xp and Ace, the Xp looking more like the one sin the examples. ok got it
My first thought would be something like the Desert Bazaar in Dragon Quest IV.

author=LockeZTrue... what kind of structures would you suggest? Tents around the oasis, with a few miore permanet features?
If they show up at different places, but all the places are otherwise empty desert oases, the same map can easily be reused at different locations on the world map.
I would recommend designing it that way. The tribe may or may not end up moving mid-game, it could end up just being a backstory thing. Making the encampment consist just of the oasis itself and what the nomads set up would work regardless, so it's the safest way (if admittedly slightly more boring than also having additional stuff).
