Difficulty isn't really the problem, if you like your games hard, you can make them hard. The problem is only the randomness. Even if you put a monster and give players only a 1% chance to defeat it, it doesn't really increase the difficulty because you still don't need any skill for it. =p


So would basically adding/modifying the game's levels be more acceptable than a complete redraft? I am starting to think maybe if I tweaked the levels enemy's and added in the new system changes along with the extra story bits I had planned it would be better. I am just being cautious in asking because I don't want to mess up the vibe I have for this game, since for me changing the locations like I did really changes it into something different.

True, I will give you that randomness was the issue here. Either way, I think I've properly toned down the deviations of the damages.

I didn't really touch the dialogue that much in the game from what I remember, I know I removed those auto-play codes out. I think, to be honest I sort of just did the update and forgot about what exactly I did. The ending is changed quite a bit, so that may be part of it.

I need some assistance.

Assuming you know your way around:
1. import a panorama of your chosen size directly into the folder, if that is what your problem is. Otherwise, can't help you.

2. Can be achieved if you assign a x and y value to each time you show a picture. Make sure when you set the variables for the x and y coordinates that you make them 'screen-relative'. This will allow your pictures to become dependent on the location of what the npc's screen relative x and y variables are. If that makes any sense.

Ran into a bug! Walked into the first red gem in the starting area (I think) and received "Map 153/4 (forgot which) cannot be opened."

Otherwise, like the atmosphere a lot! Even though I only got like a minute in.
I'm on it.

Edit: I just looked at the copy I uploaded- and it works fine in test play, and in regular play. Try clearing out your previous download, and redownloading the game. The files may have accidentally been corrupted to a small degree during download.

I just finished coding the ending, and I will be finishing the Easy Mode adaptations, along with final checks/playtests tomorrow.
The download should be posted either then, or the day after.

Easy Mode is basically a abridged version. It doesn't have a lot of the feeling of the original because of the large omissions to gameplay. If you liked the old version, then don't leap for the easy mode.
Normal mode is the original intact, and includes combat upgrades, the removal of the auto-text code, adds combat support for the costumes, and some other additions I can't think of. However it still contains teleportation after gems.
Both modes will let you experience the same ending, and due to other projects and the nature of the story- I've decided to have only a single ending.
