Does longevity of a game REALLY MATTER?

Many of my game, and others, are disregarded or called bad for just not being 200+ hours long.
Direct these people to MMORPGs or Facebook games and ignore them. Personally I'd rather have a focused game with minimal padding which is where those 200+ hour games get their content playtimes from. Fuck padding.

iirc the OP can edit thread titles. Scroll past the reply box to Actions and I think there's an edit button that lets you change the thread title.

It's not the length it's how you use it.

Also length does matter. If a game is too long I'll just skip it because long games take too much time from other, shorter, better games.

Well that's what I was saying, my thread was probably worded wrong I should have stated longer game speifically.

Edit: But I can't edit the title so...

What is the point of this thread, I mean I understand what the topic is about, but this sounds like more of an excuse to complain about your games.

I have no game on here because of map design, not length, so i could see why you think that but it's not the case.

This is in general. The general though of a person, form what I have seen though, is that length of less than 50+ or so hours is not considered a real game. Does not apply to everyone.

Does longevity of a game REALLY MATTER?

Sorry, this has been bothering me for such a long time now I had to post it.

Many of my game, and others, are disregarded or called bad for just not being 200+ hours long. I tink some of the best game made are 5-20 hours, and to be honest, my favorite games are 5-10ish hours myself.

I don't think length really matters, it does not make the gameplay or story better, especially if it's bad, and really the way I see it longer=more danger.

Longer games can make the game feel dull, fell repeitive, but this is a common thing among rpg developers. Even resulting to tedious filler to reach some set time goal of play time.

My games were even criticized for this (not here though every single thing I sent here was denied lol.) there are even some situations, where a person would actually put the play time in the description and people would claim garbage before playing. But honestly does every game have to be Skyrim?

Advice on this please

It would be highly recommended that you use MS Paint to apply for a used car contract.

I bet you can even make an Rpg game with Paint.
Back in the day, I had a html browser text RPG, made with Paint.
it was pretty bad, but classic in a way

Back in the day?

Look at my picture and then back at yours. Sadly your picture is not like my picture but it can become like my picture if you follow these two easy steps:
1. Rip better tiles, the wall tiles you used were clearly not meant to be tiled.
2. Outlines = good.

How's this:

but the reason for the waterway is to prevent water from being tainted! Now the water is probably tainted all the time just by the forces of nature and also there is a well there.

Well was stone so I threw it in there.

i'm sorry but that post is still insulting no matter how many edits you make to it

which doesn't bring me to my next point: Why is the underground waterway visible from above the ground![/quote}

Some of the water is on the surface so people could do stuff like, Drink water, take a bath, fill up a bucket. You know, stuff people do with water.
