The game isn't dead, just taking longer than expected. I should probably update this every once in awhile though...
Esper Wing Chronicle
The freezing issues is a bug with Victor Sant's animated battle (his newer ones aren't compatible with Yanfly's Script). Yeah random battles are a bit of a thing xD In EWC touch encounters wouldn't work since the maps are so clustered and cluttered.
In Ruby Chronicles however I HAVE been considering touch encounters since the maps are much bigger and open spaced.
As for battle speed I find that front view tends to be faster than side-view since there are more animations going on (personally I prefer front-view). As for EWC2 I actually am putting a decent amount of effort into it this time around~

The cave entrance behind the house to your right is where you're supposed to go. Didn't you see Harry at the entrance?

The first two dungeons purposely have high encounter rates so the player needs to have at least 1 level up before facing the touch encounter at the end.

@Frostii: The game averages 4 hours in total. It's supposed to be a short-ish game.
@horror: Do you remember the place Yi-Qo first landed when she first came from Heaven? It's on the same continent as the large lake and tent.

I'd say about 4 hours is the average time for completing the game. I did it in 4:12. And the game is a comedy, it's not supposed to take itself too seriously, have you faced the first boss yet? Breeze gives wise words of wisdom :3
@Bgamer: The first two dungeons have a high encounter rate to more or less guarantee at least one level up due to boss/ hard fight. It mellows down a lot afterwards.
@liliford: Is it your first time you need to find the Pagoda? It's in the cave a little south of the lab.

I've played Touhou. There are little things I call hard nowadays, if this is anything like Ill Will, bring it! xD
