good luck dude!

So. It's been a while.

All this reminiscence about RPGMaker glory days melts my heart

A lot of my friends and myself have gone through the kind of struggles described here. I've told several people doing a custom engine is a bad idea and they ignore it, then come back 8 months to 3 years later saying 'custom engine was a bad idea'

I've gradually learned about dev efficiency and building concepts from ground up to be feasible with limited manpower, all the while improving my art because I can't bring myself to scribble some hyper light drifter type garbage all over the screen with mspaint and call it graphics

There have been lots of lessons learned while working through project ideas and realizing for one reason or another the concept was impossible given indie scope (staff of 1 or 2). All the while you see people doing the 'mediocre' and lazy stuff around you and achieving vast success with effort so minimal it's appalling. The temptation to give in to the easy thing rears its head every now and again, especially when mindless retro clone #952 reaps 100k on kickstarter

After a whole bunch of lessons and refining approach I think I'm equipped to be an efficient developer, but the road to get there is grueling. I'm glad you've arrived at a place where you can finally produce what really feels good to you, and I'm looking forward to playing it

also I just remembered that one time Karsuman took credit for your entire life http://rpgmaker.net/forums/topics/7525/?post=228714#post228714

It's probably not going to be great, though, since b) it's basically a novel about anime JRPG people doing anime JRPG things

do you hnoestly think it could be worse than games of throne or other fantasy which is basically always the dullest possible incarnation of what you described

the answer is NO

Chapter 2 Has Arrived!

wow, i'm so sorry to hear that. glad you're okay and i loved part 1 so this is great

Soundtrack Complete!

don't worry jose, your soundtrack will be in a video game soon!

In which we say what we are actually doing

Can't wait to play this, so glad the Euro scene is still up to good things

Oathguard v0.2 Public Beta Download

That isn't even close to what he said.

So you want people to fund your game when you have not funded one yourself?

to be justified in seeking crowd funding you have to have given money. people who are in such a position financially that they even need to generate capital in this manner should be throwing money around. in fact, they're the ideal candidates for funding other projects! give away your money, so that you can be validated in asking for money. (???) yes, that is exactly what he suggested with this comment lol

super long mega friendship post

tft should have given 9000 dollars to other games, so that if he got 9000 dollars for his own game, he could finally pay off the loan sharks he borrowed from to fund other games. right? because if he had the money to throw at other games, he'd totally need to crowdfund his own.

rmn user logic shining bright as always

How come people don't explain their features? They just..

the issue wasn't whether it's possible to implement poison in a compelling way. (it's not possible for damage variance) that isn't even the discussion or the point. are we reading the same internet web page?? the point is that (99% of) people put in the same dumb bad awful garbage implementation of the same dumb bad awful garbage concept over and over because their brains don't work. if required i could rephrase this a couple dozen more times so everyone knows precisely what we are talking about here.
