The Haunted World: Hell'...
Do you believe in ghosts? You sure should! The (un)dead are just a dimension away - and when you see them you will be shocked to death. No pun intended.

The Screenshot Topic Returns

Newest Screenshot of The Haunted World: Hell's Gate. This time, featuring:

- Priam, drawn by LuneaMaster on deviantart (my artist~) and colored by me (for now), even though LuneaMaster could color 100% better than me
- My self made Window skin with a little black heart as the bobbing arrow
- My self drawn, poor little background
- That awesome custom font I found on the internet, which is completely free to use, called 'Spirit'
- Some all buddy-buddy dialogue from Priam with his catchphrase "No fake!" :D

The second-last sentence sounds so strange. I already fixed it, though. Please point out other mistakes if you find them. English isn't my native language after all. :)

@Mr_D: Mhm...getting hit by a car could take away some of your HP, I guess. :)

@Mr_D: Two tiles seem better in my opinion, too. The car thing could turn into a cute little minigame. I like the idea. For example: Hero/ine has to save another cat on the other side of the road. Whilst crossing it, he/she has to avoid the moving cars. Kinda like these really old-school games we had back in the day. xD

@LockeZ: Well, I don't really want to shade anything too fancy, since that's not the kind of art style the game will have. The article certainly is interesting, though. I have to say, though, that this is a work in-progress. That means even the objects that seem to be done aren't actually 100% done. I'm not at the shading part at all - if I had placed shadows already, you would see shadows under/beside the actual objects. But thanks for the article. That will help once I come to the actual detailed parts. =)

@UPRC: That looks better already. Thanks! I try to make it appear a bit like your improved version. =)

Thank you! I thought so, too. But I don't really know what causes the effect. I guess I'll give it another go and redraw it completely. Maybe it's the fact that it faces the front completely and looks more like a piece of paper-tv that way? I dunno, I have to experiment a bit. :)

Doggie Dayz

I have to play this game solely for the reason that my name is also Alicia... Will give it a go, seems like a nice little game. :)

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

I am currently working on my Tile C for my horror project The Haunted World: Hell's Gate. It's coming together nicely, I think. Everything is made by myself. =)

[Poll] Hard time deciding about kind of cutscene and kind of dialog (CLOSED)

Why not both? Experiment a bit, use images in really important scenes, for example. Images drawn with love can be rewards for the player, too. :)

@LockeZ: As I said, NOTHING is finished. Since I am creating every tile myself I am just testing around what looks good and what not. I know that the sink is missing. I know that the checkerboard wallpaper isn't tiling correctly. I know that not even 20% of my tiles and objects are finished - I'm just showing the progress that I am making.

Basically all I am doing right now is showing what my tiles look like. And how everything adds together with my characters. It's not much, but hey, I have to start somewhere. =)

@Pizza: (Awesome username btw. xD) Really interesting choice of designing your game. I really like the character portraits, they have something even though they look so simple. :D

@Lihinel: Both of those rooms aren't actually maps that will appear in-game. They are just test-maps. =)

Two screenshots of my Corpse Party inspired Horror Game "The Haunted World: Hell's Gate". And really...nothing is even close to being done yet. But all of those tiles were made by myself. I only have to credit myself for all of this...the only exception is the character base for the female character you can see. Just the core base, though. I hope I can start mapping real places soon~
