Mega Man: Revenge of the Fallen Review

Good review. I'll take it. :D
As for the story, since the entire concept is a rehash of old robot masters and their stages, why bother rehashing with a new story? The point WAS that it was predictable and stale. Its like a tongue-in-cheek 'take that' to all cheap storylines of the NES Mega Mans. Not to be cruel or anything, but to point out how silly and absurd they were but still pay loving homage to them regardless.
The intent of the game is about the gameplay not so much the story. Its there to provide a framework, not the drive. :D

The official English 2k3 version is out!

I'm using Mac and Blue (aka First Seed Material. Is that...not legal? I thought it was freeware. Especially now that they've closed up shop.

I think there may be issue with this. Not sure what charset, tilesets, etc. are you using. I think the things that do not vioalte 3rd parties are

- RTP, which comes with RPG maker

if you are using any Snes rip or tileset is, then there might be the issue. If i would go for commercial rm2k3 game I think only custom graphic counts besides RTP for commercial release.

The official English 2k3 version is out!

I'm a bit leary. I'd love to finish Amulet of Fate and potentially make it commercial (doubtful, but hey!) but I have a modified game EXE to up enemy and damage stats as well as a few other things essential to the battle system. I'm not sure if updating my game to this official version is going to break some features or compatibility within the game.

I was going to say, this is quite a different shot when compared to all the rest.

[RM2K3] What do you like best about 2k3?

I use it because of familiarity and because I don't wanna be those people who cash in on VXA/XP and kickstart their RPG which amounts to nothing more than an amateur RPG attempt. I'd rather use something effective and release a quality game for free and reap the benefits that way.

Those actually have been toned down in later versions. Its not four spikes but now two there. The outer two were removed. He played on a rather old version. So its nowhere near as bad as it looks.
And why would I be mad at your review? Its constructive, its complete and it wasn't trolling. So I respect your honest opinion.

So, I'm sitting on a complete game and - Serial Key Systems!?

Well, I'd suggest to be awesome and release it DRM free like Good Old Games do. :) You'd get my business for sure doing it that way.

Good Unlockable Bonuses

I have a trophy achievement system in Amulet of Fate and how it works is quite similar to most other achievement systems. (steal this many times, run away this many times, defeat this many battles and sometimes quest related: find all treasure maps, etc.) But the real reward is completing all trophies. For that you get a Golden Ticket which you take to the hidden merchant somewhere in the game and he'll take your ticket and allow you to buy all the super rare stuff in the game (the items/weapons/armor/spells where there is only 1 of in the entire game, period) and buy them cheaply at 2 gil a piece. NOW THAT'S A REWARD!

Mega Man: Revenge of the Fallen Review

I can understand your complaints about the spikes. It seems to be a common one. But I made sure most of it was fair and not cheap. Not sure which version you reviewed, but I knew ver 1.4.1 removed quite a few unfair spots and ver 1.3 before that revamped a ton of spike spots so that it was far more balanced for platforming. Regardless, this is your opinion and you are entitled to it. I agree the robot master stages can get a little long in the tooth but I noticed you mentioned very little of the final 8 Wily stages, which I've read in many other reviews or comments, as being a very strong point to the game. Like a great reward for slogging through the RM stages.
Good review regardless.

Name: Megaman Tournament
Link: http://rpgmaker.net/games/2274/
Status: Complete.
Genre: Strategic RPG battler.
Estimated length: 2-3 hours roughly to complete the main game, 1-2 hours more to complete any extra content.
Small description: You are LAN using your Net Navi Mega Man to battle a whole slew of battlers in a RPG side-view battle only game. The goal is to rise up the ranks, earn new equipment and open up strategic options to take down harder opponents.
Special requests: The game can be pretty limiting at first, but the more you beat Tourneys and open up goods in the main store, the more options and diverse strategic options become available to you. So don't judge it solely on the first 10 mins, preparation is just as important as the actual battle itself.
