Rm2k3 Battle Charas

Hey, I'm having a really hard time finding battle character sets that I like. I'm looking for RTP style character sets.
Where are all the good resource sites? It's all been downhill since Phylomortis went down.

Speaking of Menus...

Hey, I was just reading the other post on menus and it got me thinking of menu design.
Why doesn't everyone post a screenshot of the menu system for their game?
I've got two styles right now and I'm looking to add more.
This may have been done before, but I have been out of the loop for a while.
Here are my two menus. I'm thinking I may change them...

Lighting Question

Hey, I just had a question about some complex lighting effects.
I made a map, and made a bitmap representation of it so that I could create a new layer of light to overlay.
So I made sunbursts over where lanterns are in the map display it as a semi transparent picture, and the effect works nicely, however the placement of the picture depends on where you enter the area. There are a dozen entrances to this cave, and I figure there has to be a quicker way to code the picture set up other than trial and error pixel by pixel for each teleport event.
There is probably a simple solution that isn't occurring to me. I hope I made my situation clear.
Has anyone ever experienced a similar issue?

Spriting Again

It felt good ridding myself of the old RTP character and I was very pleased with the results from my first detailed sprite work. So I thought I'd try it again. I already had the basic edit, but now I'm really noticing the RTP leather harness and wrist bands standing out.

The test sprite on the right has had the headband changed to brown to better match the faceset. I like the look of the sprite better, but does it seem too empty? The brown, yellow, and orange perhaps blends too much?

Beyond Eden Question

I just noticed that my downloads went up a lot. I haven't heard any feedback, and I hate trying to ask for it, but I am curious as to what some opinions are. I like it harsh too, as long as it's mildly constructive (even if overly sarcastic)
What are the pros and cons?
Anyone pass Chapter Two?

Edit: Opps, this probably should have gone under "Game Design and Theory"

Spiriting

Not sure where this should go but...
I've been experimenting with spiriting a bit, and I'm trying out a new character.
What does everyone think?

Sexy action intro

I'm thinking of sprucing up my intro a bit more. Has anyone who who played it have any suggestions?

Cars or motorbikes

Does anyone have any character sets for rm2k/3 with cars or motorcycles? I've seen some here before but they were stationary. Are there any that show from more angles?

[DEMO] Beyond Eden: Chronicles of Nod

Beyond Eden: Chronicles of Nod.
A spiritually minded RPG. In many respects, a traditional "old school" RPG. My goal with this project is to present actual religious and spiritual points of view expressed through this story telling medium. In order to increase max GP (Basically just MP) your character has to spiritually grow a bit. Learn something or experience something dramatic.

Sounds pompous, right?

It's campy. Makes fun of it's self too. I consider it "A serious game that doesn't take itself too seriously"

Though, admittedly, a tad slow moving (like all RPGs), I believe that Beyond Eden is a very detailed game with a cool story and some surprises.

Story:
Three people from Earth find their way to a planet called Gaia.

The Goddess questions the balance of good and evil in her creation, and the spiritual identity of three outlanders is brought into question.

On this planet, Demons are manifest by rare emotional extremes. Due to the nature of their creation, they gain power by furthering human suffering. Though not inherently evil, they selfishly survive at the expense of humans.

When a demon is killed, it is re-manifest in the Infernal Realm below the surface of the planet where it is doomed to exist forever. Though you probably wouldn't want to go there, humans are technically impervious to the boundary that separates these two places.

The world is thrown into turmoil when for the first time (and to everyone's confusion) a half-demon half-human is born. Having the powers and desire to feed of a demon and the human ability to pass from Realm to Realm, a new strategy must be formulated.

Screens:

It's a large game (approximately 30 hours long) and there is a lot to find. The graphics and music are limited because the designer is alone and has no background in such things. However, I think that there is something that everyone who enjoyed old-school RPGs will find to enjoy. Might be considered slow moving, but is still fun to play and has entertaining scenes.

So if anyone still plays RpgMaker 2003 games, I give you Beyond Eden!

(By the way, if someone tells me the tag to make a "spoilers" type thing, I'll condense this information)

Heroes!

Am I the only one who is totally geeking out that Heroes is back tomorrow?
Seriously, this is the reason I pay for cable. We got an hour clip show and a two hour season premier!
Any other Heroes junkies on this site?
