DON'T YOU JUST HATE...

I've never heard of a Wii overheating before this. I've never had a problem with my Wii. Are you using the stand that came with it? It's specially designed to position the fan vents so the system doesn't overheat.

what is a BBcode??????

In other words...

This is bbcode.

You don't need to use it to upload a game or anything, but it will just help you format your text and make it look a lot neater.

Sacred S'h'a'd'o'w's aka Illumia

It looks really badass- it has a very Paper Mario look to it, which I absolutely love. The perspective you have going really kicks ass.

I'm not a fan of the actual graphics themselves, but I can understand the amount or work that goes into something as original as this. I'd love to see some screenshots that aren't filtered as a Youtube video to give you some more solid feedback on the art.

I don't exactly want players to have to memorize combinations though.

Aside from the fact that Naruto is an annoying brat for most of the first series, Naruto and Dragon Ball Z really aren't all that different from each other. For that matter, most shonen fighting anime aren't terribly different from Dragon Ball Z.

In DBZ it is GIANT MUSCLE MEN SLAMMING THE SHIT OUT OF EACH OTHER while Naruto is a bunch of preteens throwing ninja stars.

I love DBZ because it's just RAGING TESTOSTERONE and no other anime really has that same effect.

Anyway, I hate to think of Dragonball Z anime. It just doesn't have that anime affect on me.

imo that's a good thing.

I pretty much hate most anime. I make exceptions for particular things that I find really interesting or well-made but for the most part all anime seems the same to me.

I love the GANTZ comic.
And I love the DRAGONBALL Z series.
And I enjoyed Cowboy Bebop (who didn't).

I thought Fullmetal Alchemist was an ok show- but I only watched it because everyone I knew at the time was into it.

I watched the first eight episodes of Naruto because everybody seems so obsessed with it. It was HORRIBLE and I really don't understand why people like if other than "LOL ANIME FROM JAPAN".

I hate it when girlfriends diet and expect YOU to eat healthy shit around them as if you were on a diet too.

Kentona, I like where you're going with that.

Say at the beginning of each battle (and turn) the player can press UP, DOWN, LEFT or RIGHT. Each one corresponding to a different stance- speed, offense, defense, or neutral.

I really like inputting arrow keys, though- it gives the battles a mini-gamish feeling which I think is pretty necessary in otherwise boring story-based RPGs. I got the idea from Paper Mario on the N64 that had interactive skills. Maybe I'd incorporate the arrow-pressing sequences (and other types of effects) into individual tech skills?

I'm no expert on systems, or coding. But if the main character has access to several different weapons, wouldn't you expect that they would have different damage rates than "closer up, more damage?"

Our hero probably won't find rocket launchers or sniper rifles in the desert. But if he finds a shotgun, say, wouldn't that deal even more damage than a standard gun at short range and very little damage (if any at all) at long range? Or if a long-range gun was found, wouldn't that be exactly the opposite?

Just another thought.

You're absolutely right. What I have outlined is just the base for the system. The big reason I want to make this myself through events rather than have someone script it for me is because I want it to be very customizable (by me). Different weapons will have different effects- for example, one weapon (a grappler gun) would serve to pull enemies closer to the player's space and deal a little bit of damage in the process.

50% damage. The hit rate is the same.

I'm not a fan of the arrow-input initiative idea. I don't currently have any suggestions as to what else you could replace it with, though. Maybe I'll have a suggestion later.

I know what you mean, but I really want to add some more interactivity to the battles. I find most RPG battles really boring because you don't directly affect anything yourself.
