Random RPG

That's it, alright. Jesus, it looks even worse than I remember. It's horrific. I love it. Welp, here I go. Thanks for helping me find it, now it's time to vanquish this ghost from my past.

Random RPG

I'm back with another request for a game that, in spite of my best efforts, I cannot for the life of me find. This one is another oldie, and, if I recall right, was divided into parts. It was called Random RPG, I think. Here are some key points.

- Main character is named Random.

- He has a girlfriend, who's like an elf, I think?

- It touts itself as being mature, but upon retrospect, it's just a bit... edgy.

- Difficulty is pretty solid... though that could be due to my lack of skills in general back then.

- From what I experienced, very few dungeons, but god, they were MASSIVE. Maybe a bit TOO big...

- Story was kind of okay. I don't remember much, but like some games back then I gave up because it was a little too hard.

- Was made in RPG Maker 2000 or 2003... PRETTY sure it was 2000, though.

I've spent days looking for this one, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I'm kind of hoping to try out the series as a whole if I can. Any help is appreciated.

Need help finding something specific...

This sounds like Onyx by Yeaster.

Onyx

One of my favourite games (this, the sequel, Complete Chaos and Vanity all qualify for modern setting, demons, a large cast... but the dark skinned protagonist in red is here)

The game also has a sequel (Onyx 2, clinging soul) that in my opinion is even better (graphically and has even battlers) and more balanced. But play both, they are true classics!
I reviewed both ;)

Yes! This is it! Fantastic, I had no idea it was a proper series. Thanks a ton, I'll definitely give the sequel a go. For now, it's time to avenge my younger self by finally beating this. On another note... It says it was updated in 2019, but there's no real information on it. I wonder if it's anything major?

Need help finding something specific...

So, there's this game I played from here a loooong while back (6-8 years ago, can't remember exactly), and in spite of me poring exhaustively over the site trying to find it again, I cannot for the life of me remember the name of it, only some key details. I kind of forgot about it until recently, but it's a good game. So, what I remember is...

- It's VERY heavily inspired by SMT... modern setting, demons, etc.

- Fruit cups are a healing item (lol).

- There are a good deal of playable characters.

- Main character is dark-skinned, I THINK wears a lot of red if I remember right, and his parents are dead.

- It includes at least one timeskip near the midgame (where I stopped playing the first time).

- It has a decent level of difficulty, from what I've experienced.

Normally I wouldn't enlist help to find a game, but I've spent hours looking through the site, and I cannot remember the name. Does any of this ring a bell for anybody? Any help is appreciated!

Theia - The Crimson Eclipse

After having to have sadly factory reset my computer - and then getting a new one, I'm going to play this game again. I completed it, start to finish, and even met the prerequisites for the extra chapter (which I held off on doing since I heard it was not yet properly translated - has that been fixed yet?). I can honestly say this is probably one of the very, very best RPG Maker games I've ever played, and if it weren't for Smash Ultimate it might have even been my favorite game that I played this year! I hope to see a lot more like this from the devs in the future, there's a lot of real talent here.

Theia - The Crimson Eclipse

So there's a little more translating to be done? Well, I have completed everything EXCEPT the extra chapter (very fun superboss by the way!), and I finally got the Original Light. I don't know where to use it, though. Once I see that extra chapter, I'll be finished - but I'll probably wait till the translation is out. I'm just concerned at what will happen to my save data if I download the update, though. Not sure how rpgmaker games work in that respect.

Loving this game, but I think I broke something. I just got the Albatross and have been wandering around doing the sidequests that open up. Haven't quite gone to the new land yet, and as I'm about to swap Ferion out of my party, I find the Change Prty option grayed out. It persists no matter where I am... Is it because I still have active quests?
Uhm. That's weird. Just to be sure... are you trying to change the party members inside a Save Point or outside? You can switch members in a Save Point.
I tried at multiple save points. However, it fixed itself specifically at the arena save point, and has worked since then. Dunno what was happening but it's fine now. Went back to older saves and tried to replicate it, but it's not happening again. Odd, but it's all good now

Loving the game so far,. playing hard mode, but I am curious... Does hard mode have something the other modes don't? It makes it seem like that with the Gaia Shard line at the selection screen. Still, I do find myself struggling a bit. I want to have the full experience, I guess I'm just wondering: Do I miss anything major by choosing normal? Like party members, extra content, anything like that?

Lakria Legends

I can't congratulate you enough, Koopa! It has been a long road, hasn't it? Having never officially played the game, but having followed development for quite a while, it's a thrill to see the testing has begun. I can't wait to play the full game when it finally drops!
