Copy and pasting commands in Rm2k3 leads to insane slowdown

Anyone else experienced this? I made a huge page of commands for a tactical battle system I'm working on and I could open and close the original page just fine. I wanted to duplicate the code for use on additional units but when I used copy and paste my entire Rm2k3 screen went white. If I leave the program alone for about 5 minutes, the page of commands is displayed. Anyone know why this happens and/or how to fix it?

3D Gamemaking interest, know of any resources?

My opinion had originally been that creating a 2D RPGMaker project was a task monumental enough for one person, and that I shouldn't even think of touching a 3D system on my own. But this - http://sandboxgamemaker.com/ - makes it look surprisingly do-able.

If anyone here has experience with the Cube 2 engine, are there collections of resources and models online that you're aware of? The system comes with a bunch of defaults, but I already have a project in mind and I'd rather not use an ogre as my main character.

Mapper/composer recruitment

Dear community,

I discovered this site when looking for a place to post and receive feedback about my game The Tiamat Sacrament. In the course of my time here, I've played a handful of other games and looked at a ton of screenshots, and I've been impressed by the quality of the work produced here. I know the weak points of my own game well enough, and I was wondering if any mapper and/or composer was willing to jump on board with this project.

It's as simple as playing the game, and when something bothers you (the terrain, in the case of a mapper, or the music, in the case of a composer), make the necessary adjustments. I've never originally thought anyone would be down to help, but on occasion I've seen some among you offer, so this is a request to those particularly generous people.

I can't offer you much, except full credit and the promise that this game WILL be completed. It's already almost 50% done, and all the major systems have been taken care of. So if anyone is interested in being part of a team to complete something I think is worth pulling off right, it would be great to have your help.

Anyone down for a game swap?

The idea is to exchange games, play around, and give feedback. Nothing immense like Brickroad's pledge to play an ENTIRE game, but just whatever. Hoping maybe I could swap with maybe 2 or 3 developers, I'm looking forward to playing and discussing games.

Is this the right forum to ask about a game swap?

I don't want to risk getting a topic locked again like in the Game Dev forum, so here's the question:

I was thinking of proposing a thread where I promise to play and review a game of any developer who will do the same for mine. Seems like a good way to go about it, because I'd love to play some community games by responsive developers, but I'd also like to be reviewed by those same people. Win/win, I think.

So, is this the right forum? And if so, anyone down for a swap?

Are you less likely to play a demo than a completed game?

I was thinking of releasing a game demo at about 40% completion (full game will probably be about 8-10 hours of game time). Does the fact that it's a demo turn some people off to the idea of playing it? Because feedback would be awesome.

Where do you host your games?

I was paying for an FTP server that's about to expire, so I was wondering where you all host your games (since this site only links to the download). Anywhere free maybe?

RM2003's Link to Event failure

I searched everywhere but never found a site addressing this issue. I don't know if you guys experience the same in your testing (maybe my copy of RM2k3 is corrupted) but actions I've set to Link to Event type fail all over the place.

For example, I have a Link to Event skill "Observe" which is like FF series "Scan" on enemies. However if I enter a skill subset menu on that hero's turn, cancel out of it, and then select "Observe" (complicated, but it happens) the other two heros on my team freeze, take no action, as if they were afflicted by a stun skill, until the original character chooses another action.

Another such problem is a Link to Event skill "Inhale" which charges up for a powerful attack. I know this is weird, but sometimes either before or after the attack actual, the attack will use used on the enemy but NO ONE CASTS IT. It just gets used out of nowhere. Even weirder, sometimes the enemy will use a skill it doesn't know, one from the inhaling hero's skill set, but it absolutely has something to do with Link to Event.

I set both of these Link to Event skills to Defend type skills, which boosts their defense (didn't intend it, but if it works, I'm not complaining). They both work fine now as defensive skills, but wtf?

Instead of the countless dead RM sites. I might actually post a demo if people are actually cruising around. This is good news.
