RM2k VALUE! Font problem

I seem to be having an issue with the ingame text using RM2k VALUE! - whenever I try testing a game using the RPG_RT from the patch, everything works fine except that on the item menu, all the :s are replaced by some weird symbol, like this.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how did you fix it? I would really like to use the Shift key and MP3 support. It seems odd that I haven't been able to find anyone else with this problem, since I can't get it to go away whatever I try, even using the RPG_RT directly from other games made with the patch.

The Reconstruction Review

Well, I have to play this now.

The music for the battle with
Virginie
seems to be missing. Looking at the code, I believe the filename is CI_digital_storm.

Edit: Well, finished the demo. The last two episodes on Episode Recap weren't translated, but you probably already know that.

This is really an excellent game and I greatly appreciate your work on this translation! The amount of work it must take to translate such a long and story-driven game as this is incredible.

The storyline so far is a total enigma; I really can't wait until the next demo where, hopefully, some questions will start being answered, as there's so much mysterious stuff going on right now. Even the final confrontation didn't really answer anything but just raised more questions. It's certainly admirable that someone managed to complete a game with such a complex storyline and battle system - I'm all too used to seeing games with intriguing plotlines like this unfinished, so it's really refreshing to know that the answers to my questions are actually out there and the entire story is complete.

As for the battle system, I really like the CBS itself...but the length and frequent encounter rates did make the dungeons, and even treks across the world map, very tedious at points. The boss battles were all very well-designed and challenging, though. I just really wish that a touch encounter system could have been used to make dungeon exploration less of a chore; random battles really do need to die. I love the idea of the setting up elemental circles; I found myself on the final boss often getting Lake to use a weak water spell just so Vene could access Heal Rain. The Attack Wait gauge is really neat too, as is the ability to pass different amounts of it to manipulate the turn order. Overall I'm really loving the game and wish you the best of luck with the completion of this project!

There's another untranslated message when you try to visit the Skyscraper before you're supposed to.

Again, a small bug: if you talk to the innkeeper in the marine city at night after the talk with Vene, the text is not translated.

Smallest bug ever, but when you select to use a Resurrect Sphere and you don't have one, there's a Japanese character that appears before the 'You don't have the required item' message.

Another small bug: when you try to cross the bridge near the second town before you're supposed to, the message you get isn't translated.

Minor bug: When you select 'Break' on the menu, the game says it can't find the file Ep45_Explain01a.

Also, as soon as you gain access to the menu, you seem to have one sword equipped and another available that is better in all statistics...is this intentional? It seems odd that you would start with one sword and instantly change it for another.

Other than that, everything has been working fine (just started Episode 1).

Still a missing file...after the opening, when a load of images suddenly flash in sequence, one of them was missing. Sorry, I didn't get the exact file name, I think it was episode 40-something?

From what I played, the translation was somewhere between Romancing Walker quality and the quality of most SNES RPGs. You can understand what they're trying to say, but the dialogue also sounds pretty unnatural with a lot of strange phrasing. ('Isn't it a great feeling, to kill lives?' is probably the worst example so far) To be honest, though, just being able to understand the game at all is great in itself and I definitely support this project. You should really use RMTool to make sure that all the files you're removing aren't actually necessary though!

Oh wow, I can't believe someone is actually translating this! I've been wanting a translation of this game for years. Now if only someone would get to translating Velsarbor...
