2 downloads are available now:

2.1b for new games (or continuing from other b-versions).

Patch 2.0b is Ready for Action!

I meant in the original game that I played like half a year ago!!! god!!! nobody understands me!!! mom!!!!!
Ahhh, I hear you barkin', big dog.

Hopefully some of those issues have been resolved since then; now I just need to make this new version bug-free. =P

Patch 2.0b is Ready for Action!

Yeah, apologies.

I admittedly made a few dumb errors in testing that prevented players from progressing, but everything should be rectified now if you were to re-download the file.

Tales of the Drunken Paladin: Version 3 Review

Solitayre made a few legitimate points in this review that I've considered during the hours spend updating and adding features to make the game more enjoyable.

In my field, criticism is omnipresent; being a writer and being afraid of getting your hands dirty is virtually irreconcilable. I would hope that once I release the next expansion/overhaul, he gives it another play-through.

Even though at the end of the day this is just a hobby and something I do in my (fairly limited) spare-time, I want it to be as enjoyable as possible.

Legendary Legend Review

I had a good time with it, and great game or not great game, it's by no means half a star--claiming it thus seems disrespectful and dishonest.

Legendary Legend

I finally got around to trying this game out. It was pretty funny, and I had a good time (although I've only played for a couple of hours). It's too bad you got a couple of bad reviews; there's almost no justification for a 1-star rating on this game.

Good luck.

I Need Help!

Pretty clever idea, Link. Thanks for the tip.

Tales of the Drunken Paladin: Version 3

That's correct. Big Trouble in Little China, Maine contains both the original and the expansion.

The next expansion, Hobotropolis, is steadily underway.

I'm a graduate student, so time is a rare, precious thing. But when I have it, and I am teetering on the brink of kicking back and drinking lemonade, I think of you guys and force myself to sit down and at least put a few touches on the game.

Tales of the Drunken Paladin: Version 3 Review

There have actually been 3 5-star reviews, but 2 of them were deleted by moderators because they were considered too opinionated and subjective. That's a fascinating subject all on its own, but I won't get into it.

All in all, I can't say it matters a whole lot. People tend to play the game and develop their own opinion regardless of a negative review or two, and believe it or not, this is a pretty small piece of the Internet. A lot of people have been e-mailing me and sending private messages about the drama here, but in the end, all press is good press.

The only thing that bothers me is when someone who appears sensible in the comments makes a note that they haven't bothered to play the game based on their impression of the fan-base. I won't twist your arm, but anyone will tell you not to judge a book by its cover. =P

This game doesn't take itself seriously, and I don't take myself that seriously either. If there's anything I've learned from the last 2 and a half years of development on this game, it's that if you take yourself seriously, you also probably won't like the game.
