Draw Something! Round 1
Hey, this is another stolen GW topic idea. Though, instead of just posting something you're drawing everyday (because it's very easy to fall off this horse) let's draw something more specific each week. On every Monday we'll change the drawing subject and go from there.
You are welcome to join at any point, or skip weeks if you are not able, as this is friendly fun. At the end of the week, I'll gather up everyone's submissions and toss them in a Hide tag in the original post.
Your submission can be polished, drawn on paper, sketched, made in MS Paint, or whatever medium you have time to waste in. No real worries about the level of artistic talent. You can even submit stick men for all it matters. What does matter is participation and having fun!
WEEK ONE
LEFT HANDED MICKEY MOUSE FROM MEMORY
Rules:
-Draw using your Left hand. If you're Left-handed, use your Right.
-PM your submissions to me, Dudesoft. (if you label it "Draw Something" that would be great!)

-Do not open your eyes until you are finished drawing.
-Do not alter anything or re-close your eyes to finish the drawing if you forgot something.
-You can use any tools or medium that you're comfortable with. (Try and keep the image size at least 500pixels wide... shrink the end result image if it is too big. Poor folks like Nessiah are on dial-up!)

-No time limit, you decide how much time to spend on this one.
-Ends Monday, November 29, 2010.

EVENT: Quilting Time! Round 1
This is something I am shamelessly importing from GW that someone else coined. I forget whom it was... Anyhow, the idea here is that everyone fills in squares with sprites/art that will seamlessly fit into the square it is... That does not mean it will necissarily follow the ideas in the surrounding panels, it will just match pixel-to-pixel colourwise and flow into the next slot.
THE QUILT
Now, how we decide who gets what... FIRST COME FIRST SERVE.
We will do this by taking turns.

EVENT: Let's Put a SMILE on That Face!
Alright RMNers. We lack art events here, it's true. So let's get things rolling, and be more artistically active!
This "event" is about halloween. I'll be drawing a big background tonight to house all of your art, and at the end we'll have a spookfest picture for all to see. Post it on facebook or deviantart or whatever!
The Guidelines:
-Draw a pumpkin or find a picture of a pumpkin, and draw a jack-o-lantern face on it! Easy!
-You can hand draw this, pixel it, MS Paint it, draw with a tablet, screw around in photoshop... Whatever you like.
-Save the final product, dump it in your locker and post it here.
-After all jack-o-lanterns are done, I'll put them all into the background I'll be drawing (and posting here) for all to see.
-Picture size should be about 300x300 pixels or less (doesn't have to be square, but that are your max size). Anything more and I'll probably have to shrink it so this image doesn't become MASSIVE.

Well, it's nearly here! Ty Templeton created a series for his pupils, myself included, to play with and create a professional comic! The group of us went forth and made this thing, and boy did it turn out great.
We divided into teams to create each 8-page story, each involving different characters in the Holmes Inc. group. Jeff Rusland penciled the comic story I inked, entitled "Bobby Bomber" focusing on the older characters in the group. It was a pure challenge, because we were stuck to realistic deadlines. Seriously caused me loads of stress. The end result was well worth it...
Not only did I get to witness the hardship of inking under a deadline; I got to feel the anxiety of seeing my inking work go to waste behind word balloons. What's more is that we're launching this thing at FanExpo in Toronto in a week, so I'll get first-hand experience at signing comics at a table in a huge convention. (I'm pretty freakin' nervous about that!)
Anyway, here is an example page... and picture of the oldest member of the crew.
Art Challenge! Captin - Villin Square Offs!
Hey folks, thought I'd give you some characters to play with. It would be neat to see some of these characters fighting or matched up---especially if YOU all drew it! Even the MS Paint crowd can join in!
What you need to do, is take two characters that I post... and draw them fighting each other. Either as a picture or a comic---it's up to you. Just have them standing around looking bad ass if you want.
To get things rolling with some in-house characters. These are a couple who were requested in past Request Time! threads.
'Tis I
Can hide in light, effectively becomeing invisible. Cannot be harmed in light. Becomes vulnerable in any sort of shade - but only where the shade touches him. Can absorb or release light as desired. Lightning is also his plaything.

Cannot inflict any harm to others, but completely invulnerable to harm of ANY sort himself.
He can turn this power on or off at will.

You are requesting characters this time. Depending on what I feel is best for the character they could be Terran(powerless), Captin(heroes), Villins(baddies), or Legion-Airs(people with talents).
What you need to answer for me to draw you a character...
1. Base power (flight, super strength, speed, mind control, energy blasts... whatever. REALLY SIMPLE. nothing fancy. Just bare bones.)
2. Favourite Colour
3. Favourite Mythological Character or Mythology
4. Favourite Animal
From that alone, I will craft a new character that will blend into a new city, Avalon on the main planet of the Team-Captin universe, Terra.
Request away, and I'll doodle it for you!
These requests will be pen and paper style, as I only have time at work to do this!
(I'm a genie this time. I'll read into your answers for clues and pull together a story and character!)
For Example:
I did this character for someone who is joining the main cast of the comicbook I'm currently drawing.
1. Base Power: Flight
2. Favourite Colour: Deep Red
3. Favourite Myth. Character: Athena
4. Favourite Animal: Eagle
What she got: Villin Domino Aegis.
Power: can reshape and manipulate her body mass to become other forms or even sprout wings. Her skin is malible and as hard as steel.
Bio:
She was at one point the powerless decendant of Athena, working as God Thunder's personal assistant. Handed down through her family generations was the aegis shield, which she kept at hand always as a form of indestructible protection. However, when God Thunder's psychic detected Domino's eventual betrayal, he personally saw too her murder. Pushing her into a vat of nuclear-infused beeswax used in the YR Belt experiments, he casually tossed in the aegis shield as "protection". However, unbeknownst to God Thunder, the aegis shield was imbedded with magical abilities that caused the wax to meld with itself and Domino.
Unable to control her waxy form, she melted and wandered into a nearby museum that was holding a feathers of the world exhibit. Crashing into the display, fell unconscious.
The next day, Domino found herself awake and human-formed. It had felt like a nightmare. Though, in a desperate plea of escape from police flooding into the museum, Domino sprouted wings and flew away.
Her new powers would be a handy asset in getting her revenge. God Thunder would pay for the attempted murder; something Domino was aware he did, and often partook in doing the deed herself. However, turning on her would cost him dearly.

Draw Something! Kyle and Ellen!
Hey folks, let's put our mutual talent to the sketchpad. Nothing fancy here, just a quick doodle and post it here!
Today we'll be drawing one of three things; Kyle, Ellen, or Both!
Draw either or both characters doing something/anything/some kind of activity, but make sure to draw it in your own or a different style! Keep the same clothing, hair and colours the same design; but change up the linework to your liking!
But who ARE Kyle and Ellen? Well, here they are~
When drawing your Kyle / Ellen image, do it in a style you're comfortable with. Feel free to increase the detail or decrease the detail, pending on your comfort level! If you're feeling wild, go ahead and change their wardrobe, but try and maintain their personal clothing style or colours to keep them identifiable... :D Have fun!
