Continue the Story

The object of the game is to continue the story. You can add max 3 paragraphs and a minimum of 3 lines. This is set in a non-serious break-the-4th-wall-if-you-want Ye Olde fantasy world. Please read the posts before yours so that we can maintain a flow.

Our protagonist is a knight of the realm that anyone may name... (I will not)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Steel clashed. A knight in not-so-shining armor glared through his helmet to the bastard attacking him. The two fighters withdrew, and made for another clumbsy swing. When the blades met again the knight pressed forward, heaving his full weight on the opponent. Through the chasm of his slightly rusting helm came the roar of an accountant's voice.
"This day is your last, thief!"
Searching desperately for an escape, the thief found nothing better to add then, "'Twas only an apple! 'Twas half-rotten anyhow!"

Stupor Heroes Comics (Issue 2)

I started drawing Stupor Heroes in grade 5. The characters have unimpressive joke names, but I've apparently grown far too attached to them to change at this point.

Here we go: Since this is the first posted here / online, I'll run down the characters for you.

Characters

Brass Man
The leader of the Legion of Zeroes. He has a suit made of polished brass, and has a very cumbersom time moving or talking.

The Lash
A member of the Legion of Zeroes. Has the ability to create magical whips out of thin air. He's the protagonist usually, has a profound love-hate relationship with Silver Cable.

Silver Cable
A member of the Legion of Zeroes. She is a pro mercinary, fully equipt with consealed weaponary and sharpshooting techniques. However, her lazy and bitchy nature keeps her indoors; favourite activity is watching soap operas.

Dumb Devil
A member of the Legion of Zeroes. Has super hearing, and terrible eyesight. While he isn't completely blind, he absolutely refuses to buy glasses. He is in love with Electrified. Dumb Devil is also a terrible Stupor Hero defense attorney.

Electrified
A member of the Legion of Zeroes. At one point, she was nailed by a bolt of lightning while standing near a nuclear waste drum. Since then, she's had a trail of smoke billowing from her bald head. Her initial relationship with Dumb Devil spawned from his incapability to see her bald ugliness. Electrified is a trained ninja, taught by a man in a shack in the woods.

Slow Silver
A member of the Legion of Zeroes. Can run at the speed of a snail in the winter. Can walk as fast as lightning. He is seldom seen at Legion of Zeroes HQ, because he's walking somewhere. Has no real attachments to the Zeroes.

Frank
A frankenstein monster that owns the apartment building the Legion of Zeroes blew up. He is seldom seen, since The Lash locked him in the cellar.

Blue Lighthouse
Lives in Brass Man's closet, searching the internet, building bombs, or lurking in general. He has a so-called magical ring from a toy capsole dispensor, it is shaped like a lighthouse. Whether or not the ring is magical is an enigma, much like most things related to Blue Lighthouse.

Broken Arrow
A tom cat with the super power of having an extremely long tail. Not officially a Legion of Zeroes member, but they still feed him milk and kippers.

Blunder Woman
A member of the Injustice League, a real hero team that saves the day on occassion. Unlike the Legion of Zeroes, who occassionally go to the corner store. Her powers are undisclosed at this time.

2.40 The Dawn of a New Era

PlayStation3 just got the update I've been eagerly awaiting. In light of the upcoming Playstation Home "game/community" they've added some fantastic features. In-game XMB, messaging and all. It's the minor function that 360 users cound dangle above PS3 for all this time. Now we're moving forward with the same deal. Rumour of video messaging too.

They've added the trophy system finally, similar to 360's achievement, except that they'll mostly affect the game Playstation Home. You'll have a trophy room in said game, to show off to your friends. I personally don't have enough information on the issue to say that's ALL they're for. Though, I kinda doubt it.

So, the big vision for PS3's online community is coming together. When PS Home comes along, we'll finally be there.

You'll see the Dudesoft persona chillin' in the arcade or by the pool tables and be like "Yo dudesoft, let's play some LittleBigPlanet" and I'll be like, "sure let's see what 'choo got." and we'll jump into it.

My friends, this update is the beakon for the beginning of Awesome.

Here's the full list for lazy-folk

Let's Draw Stuff

I changed the series name so not annoy people. (coughgamingwcough)
Issue 001. Let's Draw : A 'Bazooka Knight' Hacker
Step One: Basic Frame
Important here is to visualise what you want to draw in the end. Using that mental image as a guideline, draw the head and body shapes. These can be vague, or specificly shaped.

Step Two: Advanced Frame
Now that we have our general shape, start adding more outline shapes. Where will the legs be standing? what are the arms doing? If there's a weapon; how will it sit? Using boomerang-ish legs and arms connect to the squarish circles of the hands and feet. Don't stress out on porportion.

Step Three: Details
Start adding the hair, facial features, fingers, clothing and other details that you want on your Hacker. Weapons should be fun to draw!

Step Four: Sticker Outline
This outline should consist mostly of straight lines. Around the rounded surfaces (EG: the bazooka sight) rounded edges are OK. Don't conform too tightly or loosely from the base image, and don't worry about being perfect. Part of the sticker outline's beauty is in the imperfection!

Step Five: Inking
Here, my tutorial may differ from your execution depending on the image software you use. For me, it's the freeware GiMP. For sake of clarity, I'll explain how I go about the following two stages.
With GiMP, it's possible to make multiple Layers. Each layer acts like an independant image atop another... So, on a new layer, begin to ink.

Step Six: Colour
Once your inking is done, erase/delete the original Layer (the one with your sketch). On a new layer (above the ink layer) fill in your colours however you see fit. When done, move the colour layer below the Ink layer, merge the ink layer down (so the two layers coexist) and voila! Our very own Bazooka Knight Hacker!

Important notes when colouring:
-Avoid using too-dark shades.
-Do not use pure black, it will end up looking like a shapeless blob inside the heavy outline inking.
-use simple colours, and keep it clean. Hackers were designed to be scaled down to icons or otherwise. The less detail, the better it will scale!

~~~~+++~~~~
Issue 002. Let's Draw : A Slime
Step One: Shape
A simple circle will do.
Step Two: Decide the Shape
Another simple step. Basically crop off the bottom third of the circle, with a rounded edge.
Step Three: Details
Add some eyes, and shine. Round the bottom corners, to get rid of points.
Step Four: Shadow and Touch Up
Finish things up with a shadow, and whatever else you want to add.
Step Five: Inking
Nothing too special here. If it were used for something specific, I'd make an extra layer for the shadow. I did add a layer for the surface shine.
Step Six: Colour
One solid colour will do. A separate layer for ease of colour changing.
Some fun...
~~~~+++~~~~

Issue 003. Let's Draw : 'Poppa Smurf'
Step One: Shape
We're going to need a few new shapes for this guy. You'll need a circle for the head, and nose. A nice sized sack for the body, well you get the picture... since it's right here. The idea with this stage, as always, is setting yourself up with a guideline. As you can see on the face, the typical cross wrapping around the face to help center the ears and nose.

Step Two: Let's Get Going!
The shape is ready, let's bring it together! You can jump the gun, and connect the dots, as you can see in the image below, or draw some more shapes or lines to help you figure out where things ought to be. Another idea is making a frame or skeleton (though I'll get into that another time.)

Step Three: Grind Out Details
In retrospect, this is a pointless step. However, a lot of tutorials move a little quickly, so I'd love to step away from that.

Step Four: Final Touch
Work out the kinks, if you need to shift some shapes, or rework your image, this is as good a time as any.

Step Five: Ink That Smurf!
Black ink for his body and weapons... I used different layers to ink the sword colour, but that's just me. Another option I've yet to successfully pursue, is inking the various body parts separately on individual layers with an appropriate colour for what you'll be filling in. Disney does it, and it looks great.

Step Six: He's a Blue Smurf
This step is familiar... colouring! Look kids, we're... kids again!

~~~~+++~~~~
Issue 004. Let's Draw : A Cactuar
Step One: Shape
To decide its shape we need to decide how Cactuar will stand. This will be a pompous Cactuar. Use two circles near each other for the approximate shape of your Cactuar.
Step Two: Stand Up, Cactuar! Stand Up!
Next step is giving our little fellow some arms and legs. Draw two circles between the gap of the original circles. These two new ones will be the base of the arms, and thus should be small. Now, draw a circle a little away from the base 'arm-pit'. And another slightly away from that, to form the arm... start, middle, end. Place your circles according to where you imagine the arm will be posed.
The same thing goes for the legs, except here, the base-circles will be inside the bottom original circle. Follow?
Step Three: Holy Cactus
Next off, we need to give our Cactuar a mouth and eyes. The eyes will be in the middle of the upper circle, on the sides. If you need guidelines, draw a crossbar to help you.
The mouth, for now, will be two more circles. The top one will start in the lower-middle of the top original circle. The second mouth-circle will be in the middle of the bottom original circle. See the diagram if this is confusing.
Step Four: Bring it Together
Now it's time to connect the dots. I prefer to start with the body 'pickle' first, and work out the arms legs and mouth afterward.
Step Five: 1,000 Needles... OK, Just 3
On the top of your Cactuar's head, sprout three needles. Two arched lines to form a tip. Pretty simple stuff.
From the base of each needle, start drawing a line down the Cactuar, to the base of its body. Then, down the middle of each appendage draw another line.
Lastly, draw a happy-face curved lip line beneath the Cactuar's mouth. That's it, we're ready for the ink! -----Or are we?
Step Six: (Optional) Creativity
If this is your first Cactuar, I'd highly suggest finishing it in a naked form. If not, then let's play dress up. Pick any character from TV, movies, comics, cartoons, or videogames, and sketch out the outfit (or have an image handy). Now, use your core Cactuar as the guideline to that character's outfit.
Some notes to be reminded of:
-Cactuar are plants and have no shame. Don't be afraid to be silly.
-If a cactuar has evolved too far into a character, its skin may have changed. In which case, remove the vertical lines from its body.
-Don't worry about covering the Cactuar's mouth. It's not as if they can talk, or breathe. Some just make random babble, but this can just as easily be emitted from the eye holes.
As an example, I've drawn a Sonic the Hedgehog Cactuar with a copy of our base image.
Step Seven: Inking
Your standard inking session is now in progress. I prefer to use a larger brush for the outline, and smaller for the vertical lines.
Step Eight: Green
One colour fits all. You can decorate your Cactuar's colour as you see fit. I choose a solid green for this, due to time restraints. That's all folks. A Cactuar!
Metal Gear Solid 4
Now that I`ve beaten MGS4, and all that, why don`t we discuss any confusions you`re still having. Perhaps I or someone else can help you along. For anyone that`s beat the game completely, knows that all the questions have been answered.
I`m kind of having trouble not saying anything spoilerish here, so I`ll end this post with a general question:
How did MGS4 affect your Psyche?
What the hell I'll post something
I didn't quite want to do this, but what the hell, may as well share some works.
At my very core, I'm a cartoonist. Recently I've been trying to grasp sprite art, as you may well see in a few of the these.
My friends started a MMO game called Hack Wars. For them, I started drawing avatars, since cartoons are my forte.
More recently, I've been attempting to update their visual style.
Here's a template for a status menu:
----======----
On another note, I've recently been trying amiably to get back into the Team-Captin.com spirit. There's a planned revival of that website, with a complete overhaul. For the moment, I'm working on the Villain Roster, which is oddly quite empty.
Now with 100% more shadow:
----======----
Lastly, I've been reconsidering my last fun side project: The Cactuar Syndrome.
It was a host of Cactuars who had started evolving. Getting Job Classes, or changing into human characters. From Darth Vader, to Kefka, to James Bond, there's a ton of them on my Deviantart (Slaymanexe.deviantart.com).
EG:
I want to start making new Cactuars, with various poses and the like. Maybe do full poster-scale Cactuar art. lol could you imagine? That'd be hilarious.
----======----
Oh yeah. Last-lastly, I started drawing this Bill Platypus character. I have no idea why. A platypus with sunglasses, a tie, a pipe, and a segway.
----======----
Last-last-lastofall, if you have any requests for any of the above, just say the word. I love drawing by request. Gives me a greater sense of accomplishment.
Chow!
Books and the Dastardly Sequels
Have any of you wrote a full novel? It's a wonderful feeling that comes with the completion. However, if you're foolish enough to tag your title page with "The First ___ Novel" or something along those lines before the title, watch out son! It's been almost a year now, and not but 8 chapters have been finished in my sequel. With a usual outcome of 20-some odd chapters, 8 is pathetic!
The problem with writing a sequel, is the lack of motivation. I've tasted the sweet victory of typing out those final lines, now what? The process is boring now as it's already been done. So here's my question to you:
How do you keep going? If there's a writer's block thumbing your fingers shut, how do you barrel on with your works? Finally: What motivates you?
[SERIES] Take Down
With the upcoming Take Down Legacy Episode II, the final game in the Take Down series, I figure it's a good time to get people aquainted with Take Down, if they previously were not.
For your reading pleasure, or displeasure, here they are presented in sequential order (not release order; release order will be beside the name)
Series Overview
At first, this started as my thoughts on Kingdom Hearts, and evolved past the generic Keyblade jargon into a fully developed timeline. While it uses a few keywords from KH, and the World concept, it uses them in the same way that it uses Winnie the Pooh, the Smurfs, or any other media.
By the time Take Down Legacy Ep.1 was complete, I began using the series to explore some questions, and the history of the story.
I won't bore you any further with my ramblings. If interested, I'll post a blog somewhere.
On with the show!
Take Down : The Panda of Truth
Question:
Are we perfect?
The Story
The newest and final member to join a secret priori, Canaan, seeks true vengence. To this, he'll have to cut through the other members to reach his goal.
The Settings
Castle Damian and the nearby coastal beach, on a mysterious World in the Take Down Universe.
*To set this apart from previous Take Down titles, the Panda of Truth merely mentions a few other medias, as opposed to full on cross-overs.
Ideas
With one hour to work with, I decided to focus on gameplay over story. To keep with Take Down's current gameplay style, I opted for RPG battles. The slight twist is that you don't control anything except a support character. You pretty much have to babysit the party, while they chop through the enemies.
Take Down : Lambs of Destiny
The Questions
Does experience define our personalities? What if one were to be born without experiences. A clone. How can a clone have a personality, if there had been no experiences? Do clones have a destiny? A purpose? A soul? What is a clone, if nothing more then a golem?
The Setting
The Hydra War that once nearly consumed the Universe in Darkness is simmering to a calm. People are returning to their usual lives, and trying to forget the screams. And now, just when things seem to be over, Darth Vader and his Empire comes back to haunt the Universe and win a victory for the Darkness.
The Keyblade Trinity is still lost to time, as was destiny, for one year. In their absence, Darth Vader and his new cohort, George Lucas, have launched what they dubbed "the Clone Wars."
The Story
After a long haul of R&R from fighting in both the Sloth Wars and Hydra War, Muscle Man, Princess Noname, and Sean Connery have started up the 8-Bit 4-Hire. A mercinary unit that live for adventure and the fast life on the World of Slothel.
When a mysteriously hooded figure assigns them with tampering in the DNA pool of the clone factories across seven worlds, Muscle Man thinks nothing of it.
But as it turns out, this mission has more beneath the skin then he previously desired.
Episode II - Muspellheimr
One year before the events of Episode I, a witch named Sankerion was killed by a man named Slayman. After this, together with Winnie the Pooh and Poppa Smurf, Slayman claimed and sealed the Take Down, Rod of Destruction, in the Temple of Time. In doing so, Pooh, Poppa and Slayman were lost to time.
When Captain Omochao meets Slayman, he is unaware of this, and the circumstances that brought the hero back into existence. The mystery of Slayman's reincarnation may possibly be at the heart of the destruction of the universe.
