Hey thanks for taking the time to play and write a review! I'm glad you liked the art and that the sound design fit well.

My only concern is I really hope that you didn't feel duped out of the amount of content? I was hoping the description made it clear that this game is really short and simple and to not expect too much out of it?

I understand the rating based on the lack of content- its a VERY small game. LATS was used more as a test run for Unity and more complex pixel art than what I had been previously created so I wasn't going for anything too complex here. (It's also unlikely that I'll ever go back and expand it.) However I though I had made it clear from the start that this game was a short game so it seems a bit redundant to dock so many points off the score for getting exactly what it says on the tin. I would have preferred if points had been docked for something like feeling Luna's walking speed was too slow or that the rate at which the fireballs fell was too fast.

I worry that you (and others) went in expecting a little more and I'd like to do whatever I can to change that expectation so players don't feel too let down.

I hope that makes sense and doesn't sound like I'm trying to argue with you or anything!

Thanks Unity! I had a pretty tough art teacher when it came to critiques in highschool and he toughened up my skin. 99% of the time the most praise I could get was "its a good start".

Not to say that getting negatively critiqued isn't disheartening at all. I mean especially with this game as most of the praise has been for stuff my teammates did and most the negative on stuff I did. So that's tough but I did the best I could.

But it's not a personal attack and I know I can get better if I just keep working harder, learning more and keeping past mistakes in mind so I see no need to get up in arms over these things.

Thanks for the review and I'm glad it was good for a quick coffee break! I want to respond to some of the things you said but some of them overlap with stuff I said to Cashmere so instead of typing it out again I'll just link it.

The platforms themselves were fairly quick edits just so that we'd have something but I could try to make them blend/fit in more with the rest of the artwork. I'd like to keep the final battle as a climax but could probably change it to be a little more interesting. Perhaps Symphony's attacks should be changed to be less violent, like, "Symphony called out Wishbone's name in an effort to reach him". I'm not entirely familiar with many battle scripts but do you know of a custom one that could be used to make things more interesting?

I am curious though at what part of the game did you start falling off platforms? I feel like some of this clunkiness issue could be solved if I could make the chara speed slower. But I unfortunately can't figure out how to get it to work.

I don't know if this game will be expanded or not, it would be a little difficult to do as I don't know if the rest of the team would have time/want to expand it further. Personally I would rather just let sleeping dogs lie (haha) as I have other projects I'd rather work on and very very limited free time but I know Mads (one of the artists)owns Ace and is going to be using it so if she wanted to get the team back together and take over programming there is a possibility for more. (Plus the story and characters are all hers so I imagine she's more invested in the world than I am.) My current opinion on it is that it is what it is for a 48 hour game. Edit: I think right now I'd be willing to polish what is already done up a bit more but I have no desire to expand it. Does that make sense?

A small thing I could do could be to but the instructions into the folder rather than as an opening. Also regarding switching between world we really did want to have obstacles that you could only go through/around in ghost or human form but I could not for the life of me get it to work. I could make it so you would be blocked from walking into an area but you could still jump over it. (I'm still really new to Ace,this was my first time really doing anything in it, and I don't know ruby so there might be a way around this that I don''t know of). I could also add some dialogue at the end of the game and Cap H suggested I make the final battle more interesting so I might try to do something there. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
