This was asked around very frequently and I could've sworn I explained it before, but to be sure, I'm going to explain it here:

Everyone starts with 0 Luck because I couldn't think of a way to add to the template and many if not all base units in Fire Emblem start with 0 Luck. So I decided to use it as a slight balancing tool, giving more or less to characters that start weak or very strong (and hopefully make everyone viable) and try to avoid touching the other stats (Because they came from your very own input).

I decided to make it give you +1 Hit, +1 Eva, +1 Crit and +1 Crit evasion. Every point doesn't make a whole world of difference but still comes very handy. The growth rates for luck are also similarly "standardized" across the board to give everyone 25%, this is also subject to change to give a little push to units that need it.

Objection!I was comparing Strength scores when I noticed something.
What "favors" did Frogge perform to be made into such a raging badass? His guy's better than mine in almost every way. He even has a higher HP growth! Swordsmen are supposed to be fast'n'squishy, not divine ass-kickers.

Kain W and WIP are also all-round better than my guy. How did it end up like this? Where was I supposed to pass off the bribe money? >:(


There are many factors that influence a character power than just the base stats, like weapons, skills, availability, joining level and time. Just as an example, while Frogge is technically better, you got access to Axes, which have higher Attack, plus a higher Strength growth. You'll get stronger with time, don't worry.

Hey, since RMN Music Pack 2 is now a thing that I'm totally downloading right now, how about using tracks from that, as well? Like, maybe have a mix of tracks from the first pack and the second?


Hehe, I downloaded it as soon as it was released. I'm fully planning on using both of them for the game. I was also planning on using stuff from the Resource section of RMN, but after further inspection most of the things there simply don't fit. I'll try to dive deeper in them some other time though, in case I miss something.

The spreadsheets are up! All the characters base stats at level 1 and their growth rates in joining time order. You can check them out by checking the link in the OP or clicking here.

I want to remember everyone that these are the stats decided by your input and they likely won't be modified that much except for luck which will vary to help with game balance. Likewise, I'm aware that there are some characters that seem better than others, but what that spreadsheet is missing are the stats at joining time. Most characters won't join at level 1 and, depending on the situation, they can get a nice boost to make them on par with the party. Of course, all of this will be decided after testing and feedback; that next spreadsheet will have to wait until the game is finished.

I'm sorry, you came too late (And that character is already picked anyway). But I'm thinking of opening NPC slots in case anyone else is interested but doesn't want to commit to making a full character. We'll see.

Alright! The sign ups are closed, and we have a grand total of 45 characters! Which is actually around the average number of units in a regular Fire Emblem... though now with half of the game length so it can feel a little crowded at times. But that's ok, I got the plan of splitting the party mid-way through the game, giving more chance to shine to everyone.

I've already updated the character chart for the last time and sent PMs to all the participants (If I somehow forgot about you please notify me!). The next days I'll be working on organizing everything and hopefully start the working on the game proper. I'll try to keep everyone updated in case anything important comes up.

I want to thank everyone who joined the game! You are awesome.

Just a small update. I added a real name to my character post from 9/15/2020 (Should be up 9 posts from here). I originally only had the moniker that people knew him by and called him (due to events he's known for). Now he has a full name. People may or may not know this name, though. Or only the first name and not everything else. Or maybe this name is an alias as well? Who knows.

I'm assuming that that's because he's a joke character. I'll accept it this time, though that means we now have two old men with awful stats as joke characters. But eh, I'll try to make it work.

Alright, I have most of the characters sorted out and I sent a PMs to the characters finished (Except for the last two posters, I'll do it tomorrow). If I forgot anybody please send me a PM and I'll send you your character. I also updated the chart again and I'm working on some spreadsheets to reveal to everyone what the final characters classes and base stats will be.

I initially thought of leaving the sign-ups open indefinitely, because I thought this wouldn't catch on, but boy I was wrong. I feel forced to put an end date so this doesn't grow out of hand. I decided to mark the closing date at Friday 18 giving more than a full week of time since the start of this thread. So if you're interested, join before it's too late!

This looks interesting. So, are we going to decide what our characters do, too? Like actual roleplaying and interacting with the rest of the cast? Or are we just picking which one of the pre-made characters, with their pre-made stories, we want, and the creator is doing the rest?

Like, do I write this character's back story, or is it already decided? What about what they do in the actual game? Never done this before so just wondering. Thanks


You can go as in-depth as you want: backstory, personality, motivations, etc. The more the better. Sadly, no roleplay because that requires a whole lot of work and organization and the focus right now is to make a game. The story of the game is already decided too, so any consultation would be mostly to decide where in the story they would fit better and how they would react to certain events (for cutscenes and dialogues). Keep in mind that this is a relatively simple game so don't sweat it too much if you're having a hard time to come up with a good character!

The world is held in balance thanks to the powers of the Makers Crystals. Powerful and mysterious artifacts from the past that exude energy to the whole world. But soon, that balance will be disturbed by the Grandmak empire and its hunger for power. A small band of rebels works hard to trump their plans; the Ace Squad will not stop until the empire is stopped. Will you join their fight?

What is this?

Aremen’s Prophecy is a game made to celebrate the RMN community. With a lot of references and in-jokes plus the implementation of multiple free resources made by the community itself, all mixed with gameplay that focuses on resource management and strategic decisions. But most importantly, is the people that make up this community the most crucial part of it. Without the many contributions of dedicated people, RMN wouldn’t be here today. And so, I offer anyone interested to participate by creating your own character to be added to the game!

How I can participate?

Simple, just fill out the template posted at the end of this post and you’re already in. Be aware that I may ask further questions through DMs as the development of the game goes on, mostly to develop more the characters' personality and reactions to events. If you’re not interested in that last part is fine, though the character may turn a little flat.

You can create any character you want, be either an entirely new character, an old character from any other project you may have, or even just a direct self-insert. Just keep it mind that their backstories are subject to changes to fit the story better. Non-humans characters are allowed.

Can you tell us more about the game?

- It will be made on RPG Maker VX Ace.
- Inspired by Fire Emblem, but trying to adapt some of its mechanics into turn-based battles. Specifically: A large cast of characters to recruit, permadeath, random stats at level up, resource and risk management, and a few surprises here and there.
- Medium-short length, divided into 15 chapters of 5-10 mins of duration each one.
- It’ll use mainly the RTP, so it’s easier to set up and to integrate community resources, such as:
- It’ll use the RMN Music Pack!
- It takes a semi-serious tone, the story is important but there’s space for comic relief.
- Estimated release date: Hopefully before the end of the year.

Name: (You can choose between using your username or even create a new one)

Portrait: (Pick the character you want from the grid at the end of the post. As a bonus, I’m up for changing colors around to give a little more flavor to the graphics. Stuff like changing the eye, hair and clothes color. There’s also the option of uploading your own custom portrait, just bear in mind that the art style must be somewhat similar to the VX/Ace style so it won’t feel too out of place.)

Personality: (Describe the personality of your character in 3 words.)

Team: (Pick between team the following teams, this determines where in the story you will roughly appear and affect certain events)

Class: (A battle draws near! What weapon will you use to defend yourself? This determines your base class)

Stats: (Distribute 20 points between these stats, with a minimum of 0 and a maximum of 10. These determine your growths and bases)

- Vitality: 5/10
- Agility: 5/10

Rock, Papers, Scissors: (Lastly, pick one of the three, this will have a small effect in your final stats)

(Your final class, stats and growths will be revealed through pm, giving you a chance to reroll once in case you don’t like the final result.)
