Request: NES-Type Boss Theme.

Well, I have once again started up the development on Dragon Fantasy II for RPG maker 2000. However...I lack a suitable Boss Theme. Every one I try/find does nto seem to fit very well, and not very many songs actually HAVE that NES-type feel to them, thus it is hard to find something suitable.

So...I was wondering, would ayone be willing to make a little one for me? Nothing too big mind you, just something suitable for a boss. It also has to sound like it might be heard on a game on the NES, and be in MIDI format, as every other song is (and RPG maker 2000 can not use MP3's ._.)

For a note, I will say that I am using mostly music from Dragon Quest/Warrior 2-4.

If I don't get anything, well...I can't blame anyone. Making music seems hard, and just doing it for some random person would just be...well, I don't know. But hey, I had to ask, just incase. You'll never know UNLESS you ask, right? ;)

Thank you.

:)

REMAKE: Boss Project. V.2

The Boss Project

Hello everyone! Well, here I am again with yet another game. And...it's finished! ha ha. If only.

As some of you may remember, I released a game for RPG maker 2003 a while back entitled "Boss Project." Well, this is it. Why release it again? Because I've updated everything! There are new graphics, music, bosses, etc.

It is pretty big in file size, and it is not a very big game, so be wary.

And a very big thanks goes out to kentona, who let me se some of the stuff from his game "Heros Realm", being some character sets, and animations.

Boss Project...

Does anyone happen to have my game for RPG maker 2003 entitled "Boss Project" lying around? It was deleted off of my computer, and the download link does not work for me(it has expired.) If anyone has it, it would be greatly appreciated if you could upload it to file front and post the link here for me

Thanks you.

[Short Demo] Dragon Fantasy II

The Main Story:
It has been 100 years since the end of the first Dragon Fantasy. Veryl has been destroyed and the planet's original power has been restored. However, even the Crystal's could not destroy the power of the Dark Lord comletely. Instead, they destroyed the castle's outer shell and contained the vast power of Venaitura within a sphere of light.

But now...the skies once again are covered with a vast and expansive wave of darkness. The temple where the orb was contained had been breached and the power of Venaitura stolen! Using it's power, a fiend by the name of Emperor Xyan has opened a gateway to the Dark World and has called forth a plethora of demons to do his bidding.

You are the Hero's decendant. Having the blood of the legendary Hero who had defeated Veryl, the King of Zebon calls you and your allies to his chamber. He tells you of your duty, and thus you must embark on an epic quest in order to save your homelands from destruction once again!

Character Classes:

-Unlike in the first Dragon Fantasy where you had a pre-set party with specific classes, you are free to choose whomever you want your party to consist of from the beginning in this second installment. Your main character is ALWAYS the Hero class, but you may chose his/her gender and three other companions and their classes.-

The Hero
Info: The class that your main character is set as. He/she is named by you, and is also given a gender by you. The Hero is pretty well-rounded, and is able to cast a nice variety of Healing Spells, Damaging Spells, and Status Spells. His/Her stats are pretty even, and he/she does not fall short on many things.

The Knight
Ah yes, the Knight...what would you ever do without one? Though they COMPLETELY lack the ability to cast any form of magic, they make up for it with HP, DEF, and STR. They are pretty good if you want and well-rounded party, but too many of them could make fighting enemies a hassel (especially those that are impervious to physical attacks!) as well as boring. If you want to use the Knight, make sure to choose only one.

The Mage
The Mage! How could you even THINK about not having one of these? With the most spells to choose from, and with the most devestating attackss in the game, they are basically a MUST have for ANY party! However....they DO lack the HP's of other classes.

The Priest
The basic healer of the group. The Priest class has a decently high MP count, and is virtually the fastest character available to you (besides the Status Mage.)They can cure any ailment, and can protect your party from virtually anything.

The Status Mage
A mage in whom deals primarily with Status Effects and boosting up your party. They obtain good spells like Surround and Upper early on, but are not really as useful as the Priest or Mage. However, they do have one of the higher ATK ratings of the mages, though, and their weapons permit them a great boost in both AGL, ATK and allow them to attack twice pe-turn.

The Sage
The Sage can be considered a Red Mage of sorts; Learning both Damaging (Black) and Healing (White) magics. This may SEEM like a good thing to some, but they really lack the complete arsenal of the regular Mage and Priest and can only use a very restricted set of spells from both categories. Their MP and HP are nothing too good either.

The Dark Knight and Holy Knight
The Dark/Holy Knight's could be said to be a mixture between the Knight class and the Mage/Priest classes. They both have fairly good ATK, DEF and HP count, as well as a good supply of MP to eat away at. The Holy Knight deals with White Magic and the Dark Knight deals with Black Magic.

The Berserker
Not much can be said about this class, really. Though bearing the absolute LOWEST HP, and the absolute HIGHEST STR...they are virtually useless. Unless you REALLY like brawlers, DO NOT use this class. They are CONSTANTLY in Berserk-like status and they CAN NO be controled by you.

Screen Shots:

This is just a small demo to show you what Dragon Fantasy 2 will consist of. There should not be any more demo's after this one ('cause this time I'm going to restrain myself from releasing it 50+ times...-.-) and not a real majority of things should go through very many changes (if any at all.)

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this. I seem to like it MUCH more the the first Dragon Fantasy...but will you?

[FULL GAME] Dragon Fantasy.

Story:
Many years ago a great entity of sin emerged from the darkest depths of the world and tried to cover eveyone and everything in perpetual darkness. Darkness covered the land, causing the seas to rage, the forests to wither and the earth to decay. However, as from where the darkness was born there also came light: Born from the planet it's self came four great crystals of light. This light shone through the darkness and caused the entity of sin to return to the nothingness whence it came. The crystals bore themselves back into the depths of the earth and then began to sleep, protecting all from the darkness of the world. After the darkness had receeded, the light slowly began to return to the world. The people regained hope and begin to rebuild what they had lost.

Now, many years after this incident, the story of the great darkness and the light in which broke it's grasp upon the world has been handed down to the newer generation. As the crystal slowly began to re-awaken, a child was born within the village of Yur. This child bore the sign of a saint and was a token of light for the villagers. Now, in order to test his heart, courage and strength he has been guided into the Crystal Caverns in order to receive the crystal's blessing.

Gameplay:
The gameplay is to be sort of reminicent to old, NES-type RPGs (Dragon Quest/Warrior 2,3 and 4 and Final Fantasy). It has a standard turn-based battle system in which both you and your party exchange blows with the enemy. It uses RPG maker 2000's default battle system and it is front-view. There is indeed no fancy battle animations, and there are only small battle backgrounds in which I think seem to fit more than a black screen.

Maps:
The mapping is supposed to be reminicent to that of NES-type RPG's such as Final fantasy 1-3 and Dragon Quest/Warrior. Nothing is too detailed, nor is it too simplistic. If your looking for the best mapping around, don't come here.

I have updated the story, music, menu, and most maps (some are even re-done.) NO FURTHER DEMO's of this version shall be released. I just want to take in what people think of the new story, music, etc.

Yes, yes...we're all sick of seeing these "demo" things now, but I want to see how the story and such are. Don't worry, it's only a small demo.

[Testers Needed] Dragon Fantasy.

Hello everyone. As some people may know, I am currently working on a project of mine entitled "Dragon Fantasy." It is a sort of NES-like game except with a nice little character-driven (or is it story? I can't really distinguish =X) plot to guide it. I have been going over it as of late...and have decided to re-do it. Well, not the ENTIRE game, just most of the story segments and dialogue. I have a nice bit done as of now...but I still need to know what it is like. This is why I am here.

Instead of fixing everything in one go when it is all completed, I instead intend to separate it into segments. It seems like it could be easier to do, and it will help me with fixing a majority of the problems.

What do I need?

Well...two-to-three testers would be nice. I had a friend review it, but it would be nice to get a few more opinions as well. I am mostly looking for those who may be able to help me out with the punctuation, the plot, and the story in general. I'm not willing to change much--if anything--having to do with the maps, music, and the graphics. They stay. Story is my main concern.

Once a person signs up for this role then I expect them to also be able to play-out and complete the other segments as they come along as well. Meaning, that when you play this small version you will not quit and, if I were to need you again in the future, you would not reject. It would be MUCH better, as well as consistant, if I was to get feedback from the same group of people each time.

The first segment that I am now willing to send out is probably nothing more than (roughly) 20 minutes in length. Maybe a BIT more, or maybe less. I don't really know, as I generally do not tend to keep track of time while doing this =(

Also, for those who may be judging the story; I am NOT going for some overly-complex, original plotline. Nope. Not at all. I am trying to take something that is relatively overused and cliche (four warriors, the crystal's, etc.) and am trying to make something fun and ejoyable out of it while placing my own twists in there. There are no flash-backs or anything like that...so I am trying to relay everything through the character's dialogue. Even the towns-folk now help to build up the story and character's a bit.

And, as I did say before, I'm not really going to change the majotiry of the music, graphics, etc. Maybe if someone wants to try and test the gameplay (to see how hard/ easy it is, if there are too many/not enough battles, if the boss is not hard enough/is too easy, etc.) then that would also be very appreciated.

What is Dragon Fantasy?

A project I started a while back. It sort of mixes some aspects of Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy together...but I just add in my own twists! An NES-like game with colorful, gameboy-ish graphics and rather hard enemy encounters, not every one will be willing to try this out.

A Few Pictures

Well...I just thought I would show a few pictures I have lingering around on the computer. Not all that great, but I don't think they're that bad, either. =P

Some of them are places around here, while others are a bit further away.

Music Stop...!?

Yes, well I have a tiny little problem here. I have this song which I downloaded from VG Music, which is from the BOF game for the SNES, the Cave theme. However...once it runs once there is a LONG pause before it starts again (1-2 minutes.) Is there any way to fix this or is it unfixable? RPG Maker is odd when it comes to these things.

The Boss Project

The Boss Project

Just a lttle project I finished in a day or two. I am using a different version of this (one with only one single boss in it) in a contest over at another forum. I couldn't use this version (the one with 3 bosses) so I decided to release it here to make some use of it. The bosses reqire some strategy, and I gave them all a special little death sequence for kicks.

The project is basically just fighting a few bosses, so it's nothing too big. T'was just a bit of fun.
