A montage of thoughts about several games

I'm feeling nostalgic lately, so I've decided to think about all the old games I played. I mostly was FFfanatic and to this day really haven't branched out (played Earthbound, Super Mario RPG, some Breath of Fire, played Dragon Warrior for a few minutes, etc...)

Here's some thoughts I have, please respond:

-FFIX is a great game with fun characters. The battles are just so damn slow. This is with it on maximum speed and no wait on the ATB bar. Geez, this goes so slow! Also the end of the game is really week and there are lots of parts where the plot just completely comes to a halt.

-FFVII was the first RPG I played and I still love it to this day. Fan boys hurt the games rep as does the numerous typos it has.

-Earthbound has a shitty story, shitty characters, and a shitty menu system. I think what saves this game is that the atmosphere/vibe is so amazing and consistent you just want to explore the world more. I beat this game and I loved it. But let's be honest, the story blows.

-Speaking of terrible stories, FFV had a pretty poor one but the job system made that game great.

-FFVI was awesome. The cast of characters were really well thought out and I loved how there was no "main character." Also, reuniting with your friends and getting them back in the coolest RPG plot device ever. Though the dark color tone can turn me off sometimes. It's all about vibes.

-Chrono Trigger had a really inconsistent story. Most of the game you are launching into different time eras with no direction. There seems to be no point in disrupting the past as the only thing that makes sense (and to BEAT THE GAME) is to destroy Lavos when he arrives in 2000ad. In fact going back in time seems to make things worse as the Queen gets the Black Omen. Also most of the characters just join your team for little to no reason. HOWEVER, I still absolutely love this game because of vibes and graphic style. all the characters rock and have great abilities.

-I beat Chrono Cross and I didn't even like it.

-Xenogears wasn't too good either. lots of meaningless text and giant robots. Still I played it!

-FF8 was a game I didn't really like. you spent most of your time drawing magic and summoning GFs. We all know that one. But somehow as a young middle schooler I maxed all the levels out and beat Ultima Weapon. Go figure.

Things I've learned:

you don't need a great story to have a great RPG. It's about memories. I'll elaborate later.

I'm Going to the Grammys

Check this article out:

http://www.jazz.unt.edu/node/1039

Basically The One O Clock Lab Band was nominated for two Grammys:
-Best Large Jazz Ensemble - Lab 2009
-Best Instrumental Composition - "Ice Nine" (off of Lab 2009)

And since we're already going to be on a California Tour during the time we are going to the actual show.

FYI: I'm the guy in the 2nd row from bottom third from left.

My Band - The Sweatervescence

http://www.purevolume.com/TheSweatervescence

Check out my band. We did a new recording "Nord Storm"

The band is an 8 piece band.

I think you'll dig this, though our singer is probably the weakest link, I think he has potential.

Also, next spring we are going to polish the recordings more, master them and hopefully have recorded around 5 more tunes for a CD release.

The Sweatervescence Studio Recordings

My band recently did a two track DEMO in a studio.

Eight-Piece Horn band that plays funk/rock/pop. These tracks are more on the funky/jazzy side but we do some straight up Rock. We'll be recording more in the future.

The first two tunes Bad Vibes and Midsummer Night are the tunes. The last tune is a live show that sounds ok, but the mix is a bit rough.

Enjoy.

My Band - The Sweatervescence

Hey guys, check out some recordings my band has made. This is an in the works thing and most aren't worth listening because of the mix but the first track "Bad Vibes" has a good mix and the performance is enjoyable. Tell me what you think. We plan on recording a real CD at some point and touring if at all possible.

The band is funky/rock/pop band with horns. I think all the tunes we have composed thus far are of a good variety and I think you will enjoy it. Later.

RMN Chain Game - Sign Ups

I am going to take TEN contributors. I will take FIVE for alternates. First come first serve.

THE BASICS:
-RMVX
-No Battles
-Gameplay through minigames, cinemas, and puzzles
-TWO Weeks per chapter.

OTHER STUFF:
-To be somewhat consistent, format your text like so:
\cName:\c
This is my text.
-No constraints on the plot/genre/outline. The first chapter will establish a plot and directions and you are free to take it where you feel necessary (don't be too stupid though)
-Don't edit other people's parts! I and (insert Co Leader) will occasionally go through and make sure everything runs smoothly and perhaps fix a few typos.

THE LIST:
1. Brandonabley
2. Scribble
3. Greatredspirit

First come first serve.

RMN Chain Game Idea

What are you guys opinions on doing an RMN-Based Chain Game?

I wanted to keep this topic brief, because I have no particular thoughts past this question. Feel free to brainstorm the concept. I'm looking more for people who are "interested" and "willing to help."

If the idea is a go we can go to the next stage.

[Album] Hit or Miss - Tyler Mire Combo

[Demo] Last Legend

Hey guys I started work again on Fighter and I's project Last Legend.

http://www.rpgmaker.net/games/48/downloads/
=========================

This is a project Fighter and I have been working on since Summer of 06. It's an all RTP/classic "first" rpg game. It was meant to be like the first rpg game you've ever made, just with a little more experience and know how. The game was kept all RTP to have a bright and consistent feel, to make it easy to get progress done, and to have as said before - that first game feel.

STORY:
A boy named Tyler decides to search for a long sought out family treasure. Along the way he encounters many friends and foes, braving pirates, monsters, ghouls, evil kings, and around 15 + dungeons/towns. The game features around 4-6 hours of game play. Some mini games/side quests and tons of places to see! I estimate around 7-10 towns, 5-8 dungeons, and more! This game really has the simple classic rpg feel and is not trying to change the world. Maybe you'll enjoy this.

P.S. We are working on a short RMVX game right now :) Stay tuned.

Can Anyone Take the RMVX RTP Faces Seriously?

Seriously, I laugh so hard every time I see these faces.
