Oh My God, We're Back Again

BUT WHAT ABOUT ALL THE DICKS YOU PROMISED ME

Just to be clear

I hope you won't be too disappointed. It's only something I made within 5-6 hours after all. If you don't get it or think it's stupid then it's fine too, just move on and don't let it bother you too much. I feel terrible when people get mad or whatever at something I didn't invest too much effort and time in. I'm absolutely not asking for any kind of time or attention investment from you guys.

Just to be clear

To answer your question: yes indeed there is a way to "win" the game. It's not going to be anything climatic like an elaborate cutscene or something, but rather, just like the rest of the game, simply an indicator that you've "won."

And yes, I understand what you mean and it has a lot of merits too. However, Oversight was just something, I suppose I could call it weird, I decided to make as a break away from my usual work to destress. So I didn't really want to spend too much effort on it. Ideally, of course I could've spent more effort to make it more "open" to people, but let's face it, we all have no idea what would be enough to be qualified as open and inclusive anyway?

Besides, trying to get more people to understand would also mean exposing yourself and making yourself even more vulnerable to ... external elements I suppose. I'm not brave enough yet to make a personal expressive game that tries to "let people in", and brace myself for the massive storm of comments like "I get your idea or what you're trying to do, but what you're doing here is wrong." I wouldn't be able to bear that, because I know for sure a lot of people would say that, and it would turn into an endless cycle of explaining, because everybody on the Internet thinks games are just ... games, and all games must be seen through the same lens. Obviously I'm exaggerating a bit about the "everybody" part, but you get what I mean.

Putting something personal on the Internet is like, to quote Neil Gaiman here, running down the street naked. The more people see you, the more difficult it is for you to bear it. Putting this game on here means that I've exposed a part of myself, and it's just hard. I'd rather people not understand than tell me I'm doing it wrong, because like, I'm trying to tell you a genuine story about something in my life or something that happened in my brain, why are you even telling me I'm doing it wrong? That would make no sense, but I know the Internet most likely won't get it.

Again, there are certainly merits to what you said. And that's my general philosophy when I make my games too. Oversight just wasn't in the same vein as what I usually do.

Thank you, AnimeNEXT!

Wooohoooooo so happy to see people enjoy the game at the con ;w; too bad I wasn't there to hear their complaints :D

We aren't going to make it

lol you guys act as if I'm so down.

I'm actually pretty chill right now lol. Even though we didn't make it, I'm really glad and grateful that everyone stuck together until the end.

Mad props to 01lifeleft, he's been THAT programmer guy who has done an insane amount of work and probably the person under the most pressure as the deadline closed in, since the rest of the team had already finished their parts and whatever they could to just absolutely make sure he gets the most efficiency. But still, the amount of work left up to him was just too crazy for him to make it in time, and for us to start playtesting and balancing. So I decided to release him from the heavy pressure and possibly remorse had we pushed it all the way until the end.

Again, a big thank to him and to everybody in the team. Like I said, even though we didn't make it, this game is going to be great, and I'm very proud of it and you guys. The synergy in the team has been absolutely top-notch, and everybody empathizes with one another, and I think that's the very key to good teamwork. Looking forward to working with everyone again in the future!
