STATUS

Lately I've been doing a weird writing prompt creativity exercise; writing interesting/clever titles of sidequests and seeing if I can write an actual sidequest around it.

if that event is a proper "make a game" event maybe
Most games that have side-quests tend to be longer to make since they also have to include a story. It'd have to be a month-long event at the least, but I think it'd work.

I don't tend to name my side-quests, personally, though I did at one point. I remember making side-quests for someone on another site and they had names. They got hella convoluted though. I think I still have the file of them around somewhere, come to think of it.

I think 2-4 weeks is the right length for RMN events, yeah. I'm not sure the game has to be longer, though -- the focus could just be a game with objectives you don't need to complete in an exact order, or at all. There's plenty of Squenix and Bioware RPGs that are just "uh, here's a bunch of stuff to do. You have do like, 20% of it. Go.", which I think might work better for a tiny event RPG as opposed to "make a normal game and then do the terrible sledload of sidequests at the very end." (I just wanna go kill the final boss qq)
