I've been using RPG Maker for quite a long time... But I've switched to Ren'Py.

I can create scripts, but don't expect me to be as good as Yanfly or Moghunter!

When Death Wills - Underworld Accountant Agency Review

Funny review.

I've to warn you that's basically a demo and not a complete game.
---
For me, it's not even a demo, it's a draft. I don't have a lot of time IRL to create something more polished during events.

Caswell is a young accountant walking to work, when suddenly he's hit and killed by a bus! (in a very Final Destination style, if you know the movies series).
---
I wasn't thinking to Final Destination at first when I created Caswell's death, but yeah, I agree. (The hardest was to fade the screen to black just when the bus hit the accounting nerd)

I'm good. Well very good... no wait, TOO GOOD! 13/10 is incredible isn't it?
---
I wasn't expecting this bug but it's easy to fix anyways. Just reset the score variable to 0 before each quiz. If you get either 0 or 10 out of 10, Caswell will make a short comment on his performance.

A simple game indeed, but an interesting and probably educative one, I liked this kind of experiment.
---
I tried to create some edutainment game. Mission complete.

Being a really little demo and since the game is still being developed, I cannot give a rating or a definitive opinion, but I can say that the idea is interesting and I'd like to see what's going to happen next!
---
I think I'll turn WDW-UAA into some visual novel with Ren'Py. This draft nearly doesn't have any interaction, except with the Devil. And Ren'Py's screen language may be better to teach you accounting instead of static pictures.

A postcard from Finland Review

Time to give my feedback on the review:

Although both blends smoothly, the blurry background bugs me sometimes.

I mixed Pixabay images and personal images. The living room picture was taken with a basic camera: and it was from my house.
Pixabay is nice for exteriors, but it's harder to find suitable and realistic interiors. Most of them are too "clean" and seem to come from a decoration magazine.

The game starts with a skippable intro from the developer which tells you about what you should expect from the game. Although I didn't mind reading these kinds of texts, they might be better off placed in a separate section of the game since it doesn't affect the story at all.

I did this to introduce the story and the context like a narrator would do. It is skippable anyways.

As a murder mystery game, an introduction of a new character right after a murder starts doesn't sit well with me, as you are supposed to be given a list of suspects at the start to start deducting.

I am not good at writing investigation plots. I know they are way more complex than it is on ApfF. I feared of getting lost (as well as the player) in complex stories and let contradictions appear. Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot and others detectives don't have super simple cases like this one.

I didn't get bored in reading the story until the end, and aside from some supernatural thing that doesn't make sense (like how someone who is killed a few days ago is being resurrected as a cat that looks like a few years old

I had actually two stories in my mind and I've mixed them.
The first idea I had (while writing a draft) was to make Leo wander in Helsinki and make him remember good times with Valt. At the end, Leo could have chosen to let himself die from the cold and reincarnate as a cat too. Touching ending but not interesting story as there would just have been dialogues, with no interaction.

For a first visual novel game, this game is surprisingly good. As someone who tends to get bored reading visual novels, I kept on getting hooked with the writing.

Thanks for the 3 stars. Honestly, I would have expected a score of 2.
If you were really interested by my VN, you should be interested for the one I'm creating for https://rpgmaker.net/events/gay21/. The style will be the same.

A cat in Ghost Town Review

Oh that's a nice score!
(I can say that my mission "Getting a better feedback for my game compared to 50 Days" is now completed.)

Time to give my opinion:

I recommend you to check if you have the RTP...I didn't and the game crashed on the first combat (on the first attack!)

Oh no... I screwed up AGAIN the compiling! I was really sure it'd work without any problem. I think I really should check some tutorials on how to export properly my games.

There's also a guy that lets you increase the difficulty of the encounters (from 1 to 4), letting out characters earn more money by fighting more and/or stronger enemies. Nice!

At first, I wanted the game to be a very classical RPG with more towns, more places, etc. But the balancing would have been harder.

Unfortunately, while charsets and portraits are nice, mapping is instead not as interesting as the rest, the map is quite simple and bland, but ok, this was made for an event, anyway I expected a bit more.

Well I'm not surprised for the mapping. Abandoned town means empty places. I could have added some vegetation but I was so afraid to be out of time I've put aside the mapping.

The Duelist Master Review

Honestly, I didn't expect to get a review on this because it's a very original "game". Furthermore, you liked it and you gave a nice score.
That's a nice way to support me to keep working on that kind of game.

Actually, I'm working on a sequel (not very much now, I'm focusing on Sorcelleria and the event Abrupt Ending Party). The Duelist Master 2 is inspired from another anime arc: 5D's (I think you know what I'm talking about). A darkest atmosphere and a main character struggling in the sewers with his friends.
A screenshot, maybe?

Though the characters are XP-style, the game's still made on VX Ace.

A Long Journey on the Seas Review

Thanks for your review.
I wasn't surprised at all when you spoke about language mistakes. I'm native from France. Even if I have a nice level in English, game texts have mistakes.

-The map of the mine you go into is pretty well-made. I like it a lot and felt as though it actually was a mine of sorts. Though, it looks abandoned; I'd have assumed the town would be using it for something? Keep it in some good shape? I dunno.

I have to tell you Something: the mine was made with example maps ! With little changes, the déjà-vu aspect disappeared.

-Speaking of maps: The World Map is pretty nicely-made. I like how it's a grid-esque map and has "Random Event" spaces (the one that exists doesn't work when you first go over it, by the way). It reminds me a lot of Mario Party.

Yet, the first random Event works. (Merman battle / Cold status inflicted available).
