Illy needs to eat a mushroom, dream of being a racoon and then flip the world upside down to win Review

The title was a joke about the games in the best name category for misaos. The other influences you're perhaps not as familiar with were Villanious (where you might recognise the board layout and symbols) and Phantasy Star (Online) with the enemies and the forest and the cave settings.

I did toy at the time with having other playable decks than Illy but it clearly never happened, and then I would have had you race the AI controlled decks to win. Simply ran out of time/energy.

Anyway, thank you for the review I enjoyed reading it.

TETRIS Review

I don't think I encountered any bugs.

Final Quest - The disciple's journey Review

The skill tree system was based on me playing a few minutes of Xenoblade Chronicles and not understanding how it worked. I quite honestly don't remember that much about this game, especially when you described Ernest's resource system!

Thank you for the reminder and the review :)

The Grumpy Knight Review

I really am running out of ways to say thank you. Thank you for this amazing review.

This review was a great read for me, I always love it when people enjoy the gameplay. You commented about the gimmicky fights, I have to say its a lot easier to sneak more of them in when you only ever fight them once. Besides Evvy who was always a popular choice in both the original release and the rerelease you used some of the lesser used characters, always a joy to see people making use of them.

If you're curious, I gathered the character usage based on the people who opted in.

In Search of Clues Review

Another review! Thank you for taking the time, I know how long it takes me to write reviews and mine are less detailed than yours.

Really pleased you enjoyed this, it was the first time Indrah and I teamed up, so it's a bit special to me. As for In Search of Dragons, the demo is really outdated and a lot of the story has been re-written following the rest of the Arum games. I don't know if Indrah will finish it.

I did the puzzles, including the quicksand in the library, we were just throwing all the ridiculous secuity ideas we had. Probably was a bit silly, but hopefully its justified once you learn the library's secret at the end.

Heaven's Gate Review

You're welcome, I realised I hadn't played any rpg maker games for a couple of months and needed to rectify that.

Ok, no I haven't played Wild Arms 3. I sometimes iterate on systems I like for a few games, so I get that.

Thanks for the image, was just curious, feels like you got Frogge'd. Speaking of theme roulette, it must nearly be time again.

In Search of Immortality Review

Thanks for the review, a blast from the past. Glad you enjoyed the game, Alma and Ezekiel return in Sunken Spire if you're interested in seeing more of them.

My memory is bit hazy when it comes to this game, I haven't touched it since we released the re-release. I'm glad you enjoyed the skills (and found that you couldn't just mash attack). As for Ezekiel being the most powerful, if you max Isaac's agility he gets so many more turns that he is equally/more unstoppable, hence the nerf to max agi in the re-release.

You mention the combat being too easy, were you playing on normal or hard mode? I remember the most optimal builds trouncing everything (even on hard) but I didn't want to make sub-optimal builds unusable.

Thank you again for the review, it was a great read and was quite a euphoric nostalgia trip for me.

The Path we Travelled Review

Thanks for the review, 3/5 feels generous but I won't complain.

The HP scrolling is intentional, it's been a long time but I got Earthbound vibes sometime into development, so I implemented the scrolling HP. It probably doesn't add anything to the game, I don't remember if I ever explained it in game. As for the rest of the bugs, oops.

I'm not sure where you draw the line for the first part of the game, but Coelocanth did the first part. I can't remember 100% where the swap happened. I think I did all the battles, Coelocanth did make a tutorial battle but I think I went and changed it later.

Anyway, thank you again for the review. Swap in the middle was a fun concept, sadly it doesn't look like there will be a swap 3 or another chain game anytime soon.

Hu'mon Review

Wow, thanks for the review. I feel like you've been really generous with the score.

To be honest I didn't give maps a second thought given that I had to get everyone done in a weekend.

Being as you liked the Snowy Owl, my original plan was to release two versions (Barn and Snowy) with online trading (I'd successfully made a proof of concept back on VX Ace) but that was something that I just didn't have time for in the end. The Snowy Owl version will sadly have to exist only the game data files much like Pokemon Pink version.

Shackled Seas Review

Thank you for the review, I’m not entirely sure why you would want more naval battles. I tried to capture the feeling of Skies of Arcadia's ship battles but I know I fell considerably short on that front.

Glad you enjoyed the game overall, thank you again for the review!
