Alternative to battles
There are pen and paper RPGs where there's no special resolution system for combat(it's the same as everything else), or there's no combat at all.
Computer RPGs tend to be based around combat, though, so if you advertise it as an RPG, people are probably going to be confused/dissapointed.
That said, you should develop whatever you want without worrying about labels too much, and steal ideas from wherever you want. Figure out a label for it later.

[RMVX Scripting Request, Significant] Multi-Act for PCs
'Everything is Instant Cast' + 'All Attacks Use One of a Special Sort of MP( Actions ) That Are Refreshed Each Turn' should do it, I think, although it effectively removes speed. And you'd probably need to handcode the refresh MP thing in there, and add in one of those scripts to have multiple MP types too.
Although to make it work *well* you'd probably want something to grey out someone once they have no actions left, and make the turn end when everyone on your side has no Actions left, but that would require more than a bit of coding, I'd imagine.

Collaborative Projects
I love the idea of collaboration. I have a lot more energy working on something with someone than working on it alone, but the one time I tried it, it ended up falling through.
Also, everyone seems to be a little wary of collaborating, possibly because of the high chances of things falling through.
I actually feel like if people do a project with other people it's *more* likely to get completed, but if you stop a project because you aren't liking where it's going/you don't have the time/etc, particularly in the early stages, usually no one else knows about it. And thus it doesn't really affect anyone but you.

Are you interested in having a release? (something)

I say we just post a thread that says "Release whatever you opened last in your game maker of choice. NOW." Then people upload something immediately.
If we did that, I'd probably end up releasing someone else's game or an empty map with nothing in it and possibly slightly edited characters/battle system type stuff.
So I don't think that's a good idea.

Comment Notices Removed
It's not like I got a notice when games went from Production to Completed other than by gaining notes like 'X posted a comment on Befuddle Quest 4 goes live!', so I'm unsure what subscribing is supposed to be useful for now.
Maybe I'm missing something here.
