ARC (New Engine Approaching)
What is ARC?
So many of you may have some questions regarding exactly what ARC is. ARC is an acronym which stands for Advanced RPG Creator. It is exactly that, a new and powerful tool that can be used to design and play 2-dimensional games. Although it will be primarily designed for RPG creation, other genres are very possible to make other than role-playing games, it will be held back only by the imagination of the user. ARC is being built from the ground up in C++, with Ruby 1.9.2 embedded, which is about 30 times faster than the Ruby 1.8.1 RMXP uses. What does this mean for you? Far less lag and a higher frame-rate, resulting in smoother gameplay. In fact, ARC's default frame-rate will be 60 FPS, as opposed to RMXP's 40 FPS. You can get a feel for what 60 FPS feels like by trying out the current development build, which you can find here.
Full Summary
More or so to say a small summary of our new engine. I am one of the 4 developers working on this engine and I'd like to aware some people of it as its first public release should be coming soon! The project lives on a site called Chaos Project which some of you may already know. You can access the forums for it here. http://forum.chaos-project.com/index.php/board,68.0.html
I'd also like to ask if ARC could be listed as an engine. ARC will be a very powerful and unique engine. ARC is meant to replace RMXP, like 20XX is to replace RPG 2000/3. And its already surpassed RMXP with updated Ruby engine and a faster frame rate and we already have ARC's engine running an RMXP game which is great. As for the icon you can grab it here.
I understand if you'd choose not to list ARC as an engine right this moment since ARC isn't even done yet but I'm just trying to get the word out. Doesn't hurt to ask though. :3
Favorites?
Its probably more trouble than its worth but it'd be a nice feature to have a Favorites system. I enjoy keeping track of my favorite articles and games, if I see a game I love or I wanna store it away so I can download it later, I usually end up subscribing to the project. Then after not being on for several days at a time I get bombarded with Notices.

Might as well post some stuff. I'm getting better in photoshop. Some of the userbars may not make sense as you may not know those online people like I do.

Instructions
Submitting resources are easy. Start the program up. Click on Submit Resource. Choose your engine, resource type, type in name and author. Browse for the file you want to submit. Type in a small description (optional) then click submit. Note when submitting scripts they must be in a zip files. This makes it so you can put multiples parts of a script and a demo all in one download.
View resources is just as easy. Click View Resources. Choose engine, choose resource type, click refresh. Go into the list, click on one and click Preview to see the image's details and picture. It does take a little for the picture to load. You can stretch the window too to see more of the image.
Really this programs quite easy to use.
Note: It'll freeze for a little when uploading and downloading files
Compatibility
Vista users and Windows 7 users may need to run the program as administrator to get it to work.
Also go to Program Files/GGP/Cybele/Updater.exe and be sure to set the run as administrator.

Anyone who supported me and gave me ideas
Anyone who submits a resource
If you could guys please download this and give it a try. If you like it please help by submitting resources to make the database as big as possible! Imaging having a database with tons of resources and being able to browse through them easily. Well with this you can. So if you could help out :)
Also before anyone comments on it, nerd101 did come up with the idea before me. I just wanted to improve on his idea. Both of our programs are decent, I just wanted the database to update a little faster and make it easy to preview the resources.
Enjoy!
Post any bugs or suggestions or questions you may have.
Support Cybele using this awesome generated image!
Refresh the page at least once to update the submission count.

Hey Guys!
Hey RMN! This place is a great place. I love looking through all of the games and just trying them out. I'm currently working on my own game with a few friends, its very difficult when we need sprites though because none of us are spriters.
Anyways we use RPG Maker XP, and sometimes VX. I'm a scripter, I've made several scripts. I can also event fairly well. I've made some pretty unique systems and I'll end up submitting a tutorial for them later. In case you haven't seen I've already posted a few tutorials, hopefully they're understandable enough.
Is there a specific spot where I can post scripts maybe? I'd really like to share them with all of you. They might even help with your game.
Things about me:
I love video games, Hours on I'll be playing video games.
Making them is just as fun, its very tough though. (Story, programming, sprites, ect.)
I'm currently working on two games. Well 1 game and 1 engine.
You'll find out about the game soon enough, however I'm making a top down shooter engine in c# using XNA. Its very difficult because there isn't really any base scripts or default scripts to work with. You code everything by yourself.
Languages I know/Learning:
Ruby ~ RGSS, RGSS2, and General Ruby, 1st language I learned.
C# ~ General Coding, and learning XNA functions.
C++ ~ Haven't worked with it much, but I've messed with it a bit and did some GUI coding.
Visual Basic ~ 2nd language I learned, got pretty good in it, stopped using it after I started using c#.
Python ~ Still learning python, and pygame. haven't done much with it.
Java ~ Just started learning. Again haven't done much in it.
HTML ~ Been learning it for awhile. I practically know every basic function there is.
PHP ~ Fun language to use. Been using it for awhile. Developed a few web apps with it.
Action Script ~ Used for flash games and flash movies. Started learning last week.
I'm not trying to seem like a showoff because I'm not. I'm learning all sorts of languages because I plan on going into Video Game development. I'm currently 14 and I'm well on my way. After collage I hope to work for a fairly big company. I'm hoping Sony or Nintendo, or maybe even Microsoft. After that I'm hoping to eventually make my own company that just develops video games and computer programs.
Thats all there really is to know about me. If you want to know anything else let me know. Oh and if you have any script troubles or problems, drop me a PM and I'm sure I can fix it for you and for free.
