GLEASON'S PROFILE

Fan of the RM series since 95, even if I only ever finished something in 2k, VX, and VX Ace. Lover of pasta dishes, popcorn, and carbonated beverages.
Dogs > cats, but cats don't suck.

ooooooohh!!! Javascript!
I don't know... I'm excited. I'm not sure if it's as powerful as rubi, but it probably is more so.
It's going to really be as much of a turning point as XP, the biggest turning point in the rpg maker series, was!
We'll be able to turn individual scripts on and off, they're adding A PLUGIN MANAGER

hopefully plugins can be used to change the default tile size, that would be god send!

Also... signed up kindle unlimited and filled it with javascript books.

I don't care for e-books, but I do have Prime...mayhaps a trip to the library will be in order soon. Can't hurt to learn my way around Javascript faster!

@BizarreMonkey: What do you mean, rounded numbers? You could always keep the HP/MP, at least, relatively rounded, depending on how fast or slow you wanted it to grow.

Also, I just noticed now that the Witch-looking girl is singing. Looks like they're going to be relatively well animated.

Ugh... no one should get too excited about the layering system, it's not changing in MV.
It's the same way layers are done in VX/Ace.
Will Enterbrain EVER listen?

I thought it was going back to how it was in XP and that's why they're pushing "3 layers!?!?!" in the famitsu article?

RPG Maker MV announced for PC and MAC

Why? Why does the RTP look so flippin' good? I'm a little sad that a lot of the resources I've collected for ACE will stay with ACE, but at the same time, I'm so damn excited to see what's going to happen with MV.

Also all you people with different responses to my "what's the 65% mean?" Are hilarious. And I'm not even being sarcastic!

So what's the 65% in the box on the bottom of the right-hand page? Is that an estimated % complete?

I figured the "MV" was going to stand for mobile version. Either way, I can't wait to find out more information on this one!

Making Healing Interesting with Multiple Healing Characters

What if you gave one of your healers a AoE heal that recovers a moderate amount of HP and grants a "Veil" or "Barrier" effect, perhaps to the effect that it reduces the damage of the next attack taken by some amount (30%? 50%?) and then disappears. If you use that move to heal this round, then the barrier could provide enough cover that you don't have to heal next round, and then you have more actions available to your healer.

Granted, I'd recommend some sort of cost-inhibitor (relatively high TP? cooldown?) to avoid just spamming that move every round regardless of whether the barrier was needed or not.

Learning to Use Damage Formulas in VX Ace

All this talk of % based healing makes me think back to Final Fantasy Legend 3 (actually a SaGa game but whatevs) where Cure 1 / A healed 29.59% of your max HP, Cure 2 / B healed 59.59% of your HP, and Cure 3 was a full heal. Why it wasn't just a flat 30/60% was beyond me (and yes I was bored enough as a youngster to go calc it out).

Anyways, to stay on topic, what if you had a combination of healing based off max HP% as well as a boost from the stat, spejoku? That way you're guaranteed to heal at least X% amount of their health, but better stats still = more healing.
