Oh, hey, thank you so much for the review! I am glad you liked the writing, it is definitely the part of the game I spent the most time on!
You are totally right to say the game is very rough. I've been slowly making progress making the game less glitchy and more visually interesting. There are a also a few typos that have definitely gotten past me. That's what happens when you read dialogue over and over again, unfortunately!
The differing heights are actually supposed to make exploration a little more complicated. I only intended for players to jump across gaps rather than up or down certain heights. In the polished game I think it'll be a better balance. Also, I promise the fight with Mr.O'rourke is possible! It's just really hard! I've polished the fight to be more forgiving now, but I wanted a few optional enemies to give a similar level of difficulty that I'm implementing now.

Thank you so much for your review! <3 I am very grateful and Minno will be too. ^.^ I understand your gripes with the battle system too well. ;w; Sometimes I come back to this game and I can't help but notice that the difficulty goes way down after your first few battles (and when it's hard it's not because of complexities - it's because it's too hard to even damage anything).
I love that you found the story compelling, and I see your point with the side characters. I will say my intention with them was to give the player a fun environment to explore and get to know and give Ulrika people to interact with since I always felt that was what made her interesting.
(I ramble about story stuff because seeing people analyze what I write makes me happy XD)
I am curious what you liked about the ending though. Most people tend to dislike it. (And I sorta agree with them in that it's too short, but I personally feel like it hits the points it has to and moves on.)

She's very stubborn, and when another person's wants are added in, she has to decide where to draw the line between giving into what they want and doing what she wants. And that's a hard thing for her to do. A happy medium has always been an important motif to me - the answer is always somewhere in the middle it seems. She has to give in at times and be stubborn at others. I think she realized that at the end when she told Brian that she didn't forgive him, but simultaneously gave him a chance to change her mind. Somewhat stubborn as she's been, but now opening up to the idea that what Brain wants and thinks is important too (and not just an obstacle for her to avoid). Many of the side characters have themes about some tragedy and either forgive or do not forgive the person who caused it. The point was that each individual person got to decide whether or not to forgive, and both Ullie and Brian got that chance too.
I am curious what you liked about the ending though. Most people tend to dislike it. (And I sorta agree with them in that it's too short, but I personally feel like it hits the points it has to and moves on.)

As dictated by the game, choice is a double-edged sword. This is something you'll learn in the church (omg religious stuffs in my mak gam?! N000oo0ooO!). You can bury your head in the sand or you can do something else. That's why you should play this game, or any game for that matter.
But let's ignore the human condition because it's not spelt out in strictly depressing terms.
Also, to be clear, sooz probably should've finished your game, but if she thought that what you had presented to her was enough to make her quit then her analysis up to that point is also valid. The review seems fair in general until the part where she gave you a rating in my opinion.

Also, as much as I would have loved for Brian being the villain in RTP to be less obvious, my much much bigger fear is that it would look like it would come out of nowhere and the player wouldn't have any time to reconcile that the game wasn't about excusing abuse of your spouse. Like, pretty sure that's what most people think the second they realize your husband has been cursing you. I'm much more comfortable with peeps going: "Oh, it's probably Brian..." then "Oh, he's lonely" ... "Oh, he's talked to Ullie about this, but she literally doesn't listen... "Oh, he was tricked".... "Oh, he's generally cool and has literally never done this before" ... "Oh, the resolution is that Ulrika will give him a chance, but isn't going to immediately forgive him." I dunno, just a way of revealing the plot I don't see often.
