Revenge of the Fallen Review

Hey, thanks for the review, and thanks for the kind words, Ratty!

Working on this project was tough, but it was the very first game that I could put the Completed tag on. I'm pretty proud of the end result, even though I only made half of it! A big part of this was a personal challenge: can I take what I've been given, and compliment it enough to see it through to its end? I looked through Ratty's events quite a bit and broke it all down to see how he did it, and how I could keep the stealth mechanics going, while experimenting by adding a little more on top of the current system. Working on this project taught me an awful lot about developing, and it's really all thanks to Ratty!

Sorry for my late reply, I'm not active in game development like I used to be, so I only check in every now and then. Still, the review and feedback is much appreciated!

I can also be a tester if you still need one!

YOU ALL READY FOR A DEMO? (MAJOR update)

Thanks everyone. It means a lot to me to hear your support and kind words. I will add all three of you to the testers list. Thank you so much for your help! In a day, I will have the test demo uploaded for the three of you. All have you have been so patient with @JRL, and I hope you'll enjoy testing the demo.

And yes zDS, we definitely need to! Feel free to send me an invite any time. I haven't gotten too good at Overwatch, but I'm starting to learn Rein, Roadhog, D.Va, Anna, Mei, and I really want to learn Pharah at some point since I love the whole "fly in the air and fire down rockets" approach.

The World Is Destroyed And It's All Because of You

Wow, I really like how this turned out! It was fun to explore, or in my case re-explore, this beautiful, broken world. And when I saw John Bardman's song at the end of his quest, complete with it's filler text and messed up limericks, I laughed for a solid minute at how awful he sounded. It was bad, I didn't change the filler text, and the end result I feel is perfect in just how awful John Bardman's song was. I like to think his song summed up my contribution to this project.

Just a note in passing: I don't really post here anymore, because my schedule has vastly changed. Partway through development, I really dropped the ball, and I feel bad because I left Luiishu and Kylaila to do all the work. My job has gotten ridiculous lately and I don't really have time for game development anymore.

I was supposed to make custom sprites for this (like grandpa and the "suspicious individual in the cabin"), but I was never able to finish it for this project. I was able to do the writing and most of the developing (eventing), but I pulled out of the development early on. Mad props to Luiishu, because he took charge and did the hard work of putting all the pieces together and finishing it with some awesome tilesets, a super-secret bonus ending, and a plethora of tweaks overall to turn this into a great game. He also made a rockin' soundtrack! Kylaila provided constant feedback and testing, and was the morale captain of the team. Kylaila provided consultation as well as a pantheon of dragons for morale and inspiration. These two people were some of the best I have ever worked with, and they did an amazing job picking up the pieces after I fell out of production.

After finally getting around to playing the end result, I really, really like what they did with it. It's a great game! Hope to see more of it in the future. I want the legend to continue, and it wouldn't be here in its current form if it wasn't for Luiishu and Kylaila. MASSIVE props go to Luiishu and Kylaila for putting together a great game!

(Also, I saw the "That one track (the only one that I actually made) sounds like Undertale's" comment on Liberty's Let's Play. Made me bust out laughing when I watched the video. Luiishu and Kylaila know why!)

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

I'm enjoying SMT4A way more than I initially thought I would. I think I'm preferring it over 4! I'm about 12 hours in and everything is clicking well with me.

I'm playing this right now, too. It reminded me how much I love the SMT series. And then there's Persona Q which I'm also playing. A bit different than I expected, but nevertheless a fun dungeon crawler.

Archstone Review

Thanks for the advice!

Also, I really enjoyed this part: "It has Gredge's signature style". That made me feel great, I love that my artwork has a cohesive style at this point!

Archstone Review

Wow, thanks so much for the feedback! You make some great points.

Sorry the music was underwhelming! I'll have to work on that in the future. As far as X1 music goes, I'm not sure I know exactly what that sounds like. Would it be easy to make?

Also, I'm thrilled you enjoy the gameplay and commended my graphics! That motivates me to consider doing something like this in the future. Perhaps I could create a full length game in a similar style to this one.

On a separate note, that YouTube video which is linked at the bottom doesn't seem to be pulling up for me. Do you happen to have a link?

Owl Quest

Sorry it's taking so long, I've got a whole lot going on right now. But I'm still looking at getting it out real soon!
