Text speed in VX

In order to slow messages with Woratana's Neo Message System, you have to use the "text delay by letter" option.

Here's the code you must use with the comments added.

\delay[Delay] << Change text Delay per letter (in frame, 60 frames = about 1 sec)

Why, hello there, everyone!

As the title reads, hello everyone. I'm Hesufo, I'm 15 years old and I live in Chile, in South America. ;)

I'm a high schooler but I'm currently on summer vacation. :D I'm a very nice person, but I sometimes space out and procrastinate often. I'm lazy as well, though I like to go out often. I like to be nice to others, while I can still partake in serious discussions and express myself objectively. I don't like to rant and whine, but I sometimes suck at phrasing things so it may seem like I do sometimes. :(

I like playing videogames (preferably RPG's) and watching anime. I like all sorts of series, from Lucky Star to Death Note, from Fruits Basket to Full Metal Panic! ^.^). I also like many TV series, sitcoms and cartoons. :3

I particularly like rock music and its derived forms, up to heavy metal. I really dig bands like The Beatles, The Police, Metallica, Iron Maiden, and many others. I also love singing, even though I'm not that good of a singer. <_>;

I've been playing with RPG Maker for many years, with many periods of hiatus, slow work and just crappy game-making. Today, I consider myself a fairly experienced game maker, and I have great knowledge in RPG Maker 2K/3 and VX. I worked for a good while with XP, but I forgot most things about it and haven't touched it for like two years! ;D

Up until a few months ago, I used RPG Makers just for fun and all that, but I started working on a serious project a few months ago and I'm sort of proud for what I could pull off. If you want to try my game, Forgotten Wishes, click the banner in my signature! :D

I currently work with RPG Maker VX, and post actively at RPGMakerVX.net and RRR, as well. I hope I can get along with the RMN community, and I wish to contribute as much as possible, too!

Be seeing you around, everyone! :P

[Demo] Forgotten Wishes

Actually, I've already done all the description, screenshot and download submissions. All that's left is the game's approval, after which I'll update the original post, linking to the game here in RMN, as well. :)

[Demo] Forgotten Wishes

A fast reply, TooManyToasters! glad you like the tiles I'm using. :)

They're a mix of the RPG Maker VX RTP and Mack's tiles. You can find all of Mack's stuff here: http://cyocorune.cocolog-nifty.com/daily_vx/

I hope you try out my project, as well. :-\

[Demo] Forgotten Wishes

Hello, everyone!

My first serious RPG Maker VX project is entitled "Forgotten Wishes". It promises to be an exciting adventure with many things to do and an old-school RPG style! Please continue reading.

The game features Darato and Konata, two young siblings whose parents disappeared a long time ago after a ship hijacking in which they drifted away. In hopes of meeting them again, they embark on a long journey to find them, and as they pursue their wishes to see them again, deception and danger lies just around the corner...

The main characters are these two siblings, Darato and Konata, while a third character, Sebastian, joins the duo and becomes a prominent character later on. An antagonist group is also featured:

Darato
Age: 18
Class: Swordsman

A young lad who drifted away from his parents and the rest of the crew in a terrorist attack on their ship, 13 years ago. He was adopted by an old couple, and later by Sojiro, the mayor of Agalia City. He's been able to live on thanks to her sister's support and his dreams of finding mother and father. A valiant, decided, pure-hearted and witty character, Darato has a clear goal and dream: to meet with his and her sister's parents again after so many years. But it is only a matter of time before the saddening truth reveals to him...

Konata
Age: 18
Class: Alchemist

A young lady who's Darato's sister and the adoptive daughter of the mayor of Agalia. She's a novice alchemist as her adoptive father has recently begun teaching her the art of alchemy. She can be sorta rude and selfish at times, but she can also show kindness, in her own ways. She shares Darato's dreams, but not as strongly, as she's more worried about his brother, and constantly cares for him. She's very close with him and looks after him with loving-kindness.

Sebastian
Age: 32
Class: Blacksmith

An experienced blacksmith, Sebastian is in debt with Konata and Darato as they saved his life at the Chillmore Caverns, in the northern regions. He's known for being very adventurous and searches far and wide for minerals, precious gemstones and other rarities for him to work on. He decides to stick with the young pair also to aid them and to see if he can find some new rares on this journey. He can seem greedy, but he's actually very kindhearted too and will always lend someone a hand should they be in trouble.

Sojiro
Age:55
Class: Master Creator

The adoptive father of Konata and Darato and mayor of Agalia City, Sojiro has amassed quite a fortune by making use of advanced alchemy. He has lately taught some to Konata so the line of alchemists can carry on. A selfish and arrogant old man, he also becomes a prominent NPC later on, and can be obtainable as an extra character after the end of the game.

There are of course more characters which will not be detailed as of yet, though â€" as new releases come out, they'll be added!

We also have the antagonist organization, an unnamed terrorist group, whose relation to the plot will be explained further below.

The setting and plot are as follows:

The game is set in the fictional world of Arcanthas (an alternate to the human world). It is the year 1240, technologies like airships have been developed and discoveries such as the use of magic have also been researched. After a time of prosperity, the people residing in most of the northern Arcanthas hemisphere are shocked by a series of terrorist attacks and events, against which the major countries have no way of reacting. Security is improved, exploration programs being done, but no trace of terrorist hideouts is found.

A passenger trip was hijacked by unknown terrorists and exploded. Miraculously, two siblings, Darato and Konata, survived the attack but drifted away to a shore near Agalia City. Away from their parents and the rest of the crew, whose fate is yet unknown, they were adopted by an old couple and later by the mayor of the nearby city, Agalia. There they were raised and cared for well.

It is now 1253, and the terrorist group, unbeknownst to Darato, continues to act from beneath the shadows. Its activities have slowed down lately, which has led Arcanthas to a state of relative peace.

Now that our two young siblings have grown to be adults, they decided to take off in a quest to find their missing parents. As our heroes set off in a journey to find their parents, they'll have to face a diverse array of challenges, from intense and exciting battles and new companions â€" the saddening truth will undermine all remaining happiness and positivity in Darato, whose disappointment and sorrow will turn into wishes of vengeance and revenge.

The turn of events to come will deeply affect our hero's character and his way of seeing life, and his comrades will play a key role in helping our lost hero recover faith and trust in life and humankind. His new, avengeful goal will directly involve the terrorist group who caused the hijacking.

The game contains many nice features, such as the following ones. Also, please note that all of these features aren't included in the game Demo, but will be in the Full Version when it is released!

Each character has its own custom command that replaces the Guard command, with different effects, from the gathering of alchemy materials to activating a fury state that maximizes attack but nullifies the user's defense.

An included bestiary, with detailed information about encountered creatures, and a quest log, to help you keep track of your main quest and sidequests; what to do or where to go.

Some nice additions such as custom window skins, expanded equipment, a well-sorted inventory, and more!

Your party will eventually get bigger and bigger so a large party management system has been added too. The newer characters will be directly involved with the plot in question, filler characters are a no-no.

A skill system which will allow a set number of skills to be used at the same time in battle, which you will be able to increase further with quests. This certainly allows for more customization and battle strategy!

The battle system currently used in this game is the RTP one, but a custom battle system is in consideration - it won't be a sideview one, though. Battles will be interesting and you will be able to do a lot of actions, from battle items to party buffs! I'm also considering the addition of the Overdrive Skill System.

You'll see and collect a whole lot of equipment and items - there will also be footgear and each character can wear two accessories! Each equipment piece will have its own values and accessories have effects and values of their own, too!

You are also able to create a wide variety of items out of simpler ones. From cooking to weaponsmithing, as you advance in the game you'll find recipes for newer and better items to make.

Many parts of the game can also be revisited, and you'll be encouraged to do so, as many sidequests in visited locations become available later on. A transport system will help you revisit those places easily, and you may optionally get an airship of your own by doing a very difficult sidequest.

The fun doesn't end when you finish the game - you can unlock a handful of extra characters after you've cleared the main story and get a lot of new sidequests - that added to the ability to get up to level 200. In addition, a whole new section of the world will be available for exploring after you finish the main story, with new cities, monsters, quests, etc. It'll be an interesting experience, and side plots will be pretty well thought-out, too!

Want some game screenshots? Then look below!

You'll get to gradually know and like the game's lively characters
such as Darato's some-what rude but clingy sister.

You'll travel through well-mapped and pretty sceneries such as
mountains, caverns, and greenlands.

Nice-looking and well-mapped houses will be
there for you to pillage, too!

There's a wide array of useful items and weapons that will be interesting to
look at, and a well-sorted inventory for easy browsing, too!

KGC's Skill CP System will be present, as well, for further customization.
Choose your battle skills carefully and plan your strategies!

Once you've set up your skills, utilize them in battle
and pound your enemies to the ground!

Useful custom commands will allow for a more varied and
strategy-driven battling environment!

Caverns and dungeons like this will usually involve the use of switches
and sometimes the solving of puzzles.

Check your quest log for handy information on your active quests, should
you ever forget an important detail!

The bestiary will allow you to keep track of your enemies: their loot, stats,
weaknesses, resistances, and other handy information!
