One thing I do really want to change though is the speed at which the text scrolls in the intro. Your video tells me it's way too fast (though it's on Ace's lowest speed setting), so I may end up doing it with Pictures instead.

This is true but I have an alternate solution: simply separate the lines from each other by adding spaces inbetween and separate paragraphs further. This will give the impression of a lower scrolling speed.

@Dark Gaia: That's strange...I downloaded it just a couple of days ago on RMN, so I'm not sure how I could've gotten an older version (unless you hadn't uploaded it yet or the wrong version was set as the main download). I'll try again though.

You probably did - Dark Gaia has forgotten to rename the project (in the taskbar it still says Beta Build 1.1 even though it is the updated version) He was probably misled by this. You ARE indeed playing the new version; for example one thing in the changelog: "Added cutscene to the intro fleshing out Lionel and Clara." does indeed appear in your "Let's Try" video!

Just remember to avoid using your sp-parameter of choice in other situations in order to prevent unwanted effects (e.g. don't use conventional damage tiles if you're going to use Floor Damage Rate for the "Might" stat).

Do you use the "Luck" stat for anything? If not, you can simply rename that as "Might" and introduce it as an additional stat and in algorithms.

Please disclose a bit more about how you want the Might stat to work. Since you mentioned it was added via weapons only, it must work in a special way.

Tip: you can use ex- and sp-parameters in damage formulae. For example, you can tweak the Guard Effect Rate or Floor Damage Rate to work as % modifiers in an actual formula

Example formula:
(4* a.atk - 2 * b.def) * a.fdr

This calculates the standard formula for attack, but if an equipment modifies Floor Damage Rate (FDR) to 110%, the attack will deal 10% increased damage.

Everwind DevBlog #3 - A new dungeon

I love the idea of introducing a puzzle early in the game and then having it reappear much, much later. It gives a really fuzzy sensation to the player!

You should crop the size of the map further in order to make the treasure hunting more challenging!

About the level scaling on Skills, you could make 'em learnable from books that could perhaps be trophy-tradeable/obelisk rewards, or obtainable via sidequests. Of course, you could still introduce some of them through the main quest, as a means of increasing your skills accordingly to the characters' level.

Thanks a lot for the comments, guys. I'm gonna work on desaturating some of the jungle tiles. I'm not sure I can work with the blocky vine walls since my spriting ability is bad, but I should give it a go perhaps. It could go to lengths in fixing a lot of other blocky tiles from the VX RTP.

@Lensky: The first screenshot intrigues me - is it some sort of data password system, or you use it in-game? The mapping in the other two is simple but nice. Why do you use such a wall auto-tile, though? Are the characters in a building?

In all seriousness, it's looking pretty nice. It kind of reminds me of the Water Crystal Tower from Final Fantasy V.
