HOPEFUL_DREAMER'S PROFILE

My first RPG was Final Fantasy 9 and I've been a huge fan of the genre ever since. When I'm not working or on Youtube I'm usually working on something in RPG maker, to create something I and hopefully other people will like.

Titans of Illumia was the first project I've been able to finish and it's mainly due to the freedom in exploration and sidetracking that I've come to enjoy from games like oblivion and skyrim (obviously to a much smaller degree).

@bicfarmer,

Sorry about that. The door wasn't locked but finding the right one back is pretty difficult in the dark. I assumed most people would die once to return to the surface and wouldn't likely reach that specific town until they were ready.

I'll add an npc that lets the player get back to the surface in a future update to prevent others going through the same issue.

There are some design oversights with how I've attempted to make this non-linear and I completely get how you got fed up with it.

Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback.

@Maximax,

Wow didn't realise quite how many errors there were. My proof-reading sucks.

Fixed all the issues you've mentioned in part 1 just want to tweak menu order a bit before an update.

Thanks again for all the feedback. I'll have tweak the remainder of these issues when I finish work.

The safeguard nerf was a bit silly in hindsight as 1 warcry mitigates the dowmsides quickly. Think 25 Tp cost might be more sensible.

Only if it's no trouble. Whatever works for you. Planning on putting out v1.0.15 this weekend with some fixes if that affects your decision?

Titans Of Illumia

Hey Maximax,

You're right with the quest descriptions there. On reflection they aren't as clear as I thought. Apocalypse is in the hidden dungeon where the secret final boss is. Once inside if you go up, up, right, right, up, up there should be a green portal. Defeating it creates a way out of the area also.

Originally I just put that essence of magic fight in for fun not intending to put it in the final game. Last minute decision to add it in case people wanted the challenge so not surprising it might need a tweak HP wise. You've got a good point there about survivability. Had a similar experience with a boss in FFX where I hadn't broken the damage limit yet and a boss took nearly an hour to beat so get where you're coming from.

Looks like you've only missed 1 gathering quest.
-Necklace in the well (Galadria)
-Black Flower (Elfheim Inn)
-The perfect brew (Elfheim Apothecary)
-Red Flower (Hopoki)
-Magicite (Masindria)
-Basics of Brewing (Hopoki item shop)
-Dark Wing (Brehzel - House)

Will have to add quest list to walkthrough now I think about it...

The behemoth is meant as a loose connection to the depths but making it into a quest is a much better idea. I'd forgotten about that swamp as it's a bit out the way.

The Invincible Aura is broken and a bit of an old item I hadn't given a lot of attention to. The Origari Highroad is the small stretch of path to the right of Hopoki Town. It did allow for a change of outfit for the characters but the location of that event has since been moved to the hall of mirrors and unlocks in game cheats also (Mainly multiple copies of unique weapons/ contracts).

I'll take some time looking into lighting, fog and issues you've stated above. Thanks a ton for all the detailed feedback! Gives me a lot of motivation to keep working and improving the game and you've certainly given me a lot to work with.

@Maximax,

That's awesome, glad you've enjoyed the game! Thanks for letting me know how you've built characters. It's always really interesting to see how others use the available tools and it helps a lot to understand what works and what doesn't.

Admittedly there are some confusing bits here and there like the orb of experience.
That was left in the last update when testing an idea that won't make it to the final game.

I think meteor was one of my favorite skills with how easy it can be to use to get massive damage. Fear actually has one of his moves a bit bugged but I'll have to play around with it.
Safeguard definitely trivializes some fights so I'll keep thinking of a rework as I don't think the atk debuffs and higher mp cost really matter with all the tools available.
The crystal smithy is also a bit mad with how easy it is to get the crystal gear.

Regarding that note:
Note number 4 is in the bandit hideout (mines) after completing Karena's back story.
I think I'll add a quest when the player encounters a certain character to describe the locations as I know a lot of people tend to miss just 1 of the 5.

Regarding the achievement, it hasn't changed and there are a total of 10 contracts. 4 you start with, the 4 from each titan and 2 hidden classes (Spellsword and Hunter). I'll look into this to see if it there's a problem.

Do you recall any specific mapping issues? I know it's only a tiny thing but
mainly curious.

@fifacv,
Sorry I didn't get back to you before. Meant to update the walkthrough to provide some tips but haven't gotten that far yet with it.

Both of those enemies can be very difficult so you should aim for your stats to be end game level (Speed 150, Atk/ Magic 300). I'm sure there are exploits I haven't noticed when designing these bosses and this will be very general advice. I'd invite anyone to chip in with their suggestions if they read this comment.

Fear 99999 HP
=============
Evades all physical attacks, immune to all elements except light.

Piercing Shriek removes all buffs and should remove 75% of HP but upon inspection this seems bugged. He does this every 8 turns so there's still time to set up buffs and deal damage between these uses.

Siphonga will damage MP for everyone significantly so it's important to have the Bow of Wisdom for free MP or the Staff of Power to use limit breaks every turn.

He casts single target death and uses life drain but if you keep your health relatively high life drain won't do much and you can hopefully revive faster than he can kill party members.

If your speed is anywhere near 120 or higher it will be a case just having enough mp to grind him down if your damage output isn't high.

Meteor is a good way to inflict damage and if you're having trouble gathering LB
you can guard for 20 points or equip Limit charms also.

Chaos 60000 HP
===============
Weak to light damage 200% but only 10% chance of reducing stats through break skills.

Uses dark elemental magic and death spells.
If you have enough dark elemental armour such as twilight armour/ demon king cloak you can render most of his attacks useless as Siphon and Gravity are actually dark elemental spells.

A spellsword with a dark tome equipped can use dark veil to halve all dark damage too.

Besides that he uses despair and curse every so often which prevent healing and prevent contract shifting. Having a paladin or lots of holy water should help if you need it.

Hope that helps, I'll have these tips in next walkthrough update with some others also.

@fifacv,
The mirror is in a dungeon you find with the shovel along the south beach. If you are playing in version 1.0.11 or later you can find the mirror at any church the first time you visit.
For Tiamat, he deals Water, Fire and Wind damage so make sure your armour doesn't have those weaknesses. He also resists magic damage so focus on physical attacks.
He is also weak to Earth damage so Bulldoze and Earth magic is okay if you're lacking other options.

V1.0.12 is out with community fixes along with cheats to play around with!

More info in the included walk through which is a bit of a work in progress for now.

Titans Of Illumia

No problem, I'll just revert to the old system I'm sure worked and rule out that possibility. This will take some time and I'll include a legacy fix with a cheat code NPC in the hall of mirrors. Players can input codes to unlock stuff early to play around with it too.
That is strange that you unlocked the spellsword contract but not the others as they're both handled through the gameus quest system which I assumed was the issue.

The problem with selecting enemies may just be the mouse cursor hovering over that enemy as the game can be played with just the mouse too. Also the 'Taunt' state (Purple harp icon) prevents players from targeting other enemies with physical attacks and in some cases any attacks.

If that issue isn't related to the above let me know a bit more about it and I'll aim to fix that also.

@blu3,
The most recent change has quest rewards given from an independent program that's kind of built in. That's the only thing I can think of but I've since tested this on a copy of the game that isn't the editor and there wasn't an issue receiving quest rewards from Aquaria or the necklace in the well quest.

Are you receiving any quest rewards at all? This may sound like a silly question but I'd like to be sure before I change anything: Have you checked for the contracts in the key items section?

The most confusing part here is that the Bandit hideout NPC is still there after beating Oceana in Aquaria. He leaves after completing this dungeon, was this the order you went in?

The imp is in a bomb cave east of Galadria, kind of in the middle of the swamp. I'll try and make a landmark map for marks and major landmarks which should help in future.

The roots require a key item to clear. They'll be an obstacle for now but exploring the forest in Elfheim should help with this.

Hope this helps and please let me know if there's still an issue so I can fix for other players.
