I was about to try out Dreamaker on my project:

Apparently it dosen't work with games made in offical RM2k3. I tried with different games.
Does anyone have expirience with this?
I contacted the creator but don't expect to get an answer any soon.

Easyrpg [RPG Maker 2000/2003 Player] - Developer Perks

Hey,

possibly you've heard about easyrpg. An alternative RM 200/2003 interpreter. But not only can you play RM games with it, it also has some nice features to make your developer life easier. So I made this video to list them all.

DEEP 8 Crowdfunding Concept

Hey everyone,

my 2k3 game DEEP 8 has been out there for quite a while and I'm currently testing a new demo running on easyrpg.
Guess, I've written it in the games description but I'm gonna try crowdfunding this game to finally be able to complete it. This is appoximately gonna start in april 2019 and for quite a while I've been thinking about the concept how to approach this and I published it in a german community a while a go already, but of course I totally rely on you guys here too!

So I thought I'd show what I got for now.

Facts

- the goal is gonna be around 30000 €, which I'd spent for:
- for the most part this is gonna enable me to live for ~2 time of developing
- but I'm also looking for a coworker, I feel the project is too massive to complete it all on my own, also in the indiegogo tips is stated that campaigns with at least 2 teammembers are more likely successful
- also I need to pay someone to translate, unless I'd find an english native team member, then maybe we could handle this :D
- perks, betatesters etc.

Possible Perks

Of course there are a lot of "standard" perks that I will most likely have like credit entry, NPC, sidequest design etc., but that's fair enough.

I recently started doing my artworks for the game in blender. And I also created this poster for the crowdfunding:


However, this is not finished yet. I'm not quite satisfied with the face, so this is not the final render.

In the campaign of Rise of the third power I've seen that they offer different qualities of paper, which I guess is a smart idea.

Novel

Next thing would be the novel in digital or physical form, but unfortunately it is currently only in german. I was thinking about making the translation a stretch goal. But I couldn't offer it to you guys right now. :/ How do you feel about that?

Meling plaster cast

This is a big thing I'm working on right now. It was actually the main reason I got into blender: to create a 3D-printable model!
This is how it looks digital:




This I had printed once, but printing is too expensive to do all copies.
That's why I created a silicon form, that looks like this.


And it enables me to create as many of them as I want to. However right now I aspire to do 20. Every single one takes at least 2 hours to produce, and then they still have to be painted. ^^
This is the first one I took out of the form:


Soon I'm gonna start painting the first bunch. They're currently standing around here like this:



Right now I wanna paint them more or less realistically. But I'm open for your suggestions here. Was thinking of making like monochrom versions, too.

[RM2K3] Tutorial Series

I've started this tutorial series a while ago. The audio is german, but I thought it might be interesting for some beginners to have access to the content and so I decided to create english subs.

Searching Alpha/Beta-Tester - Game: DEEP 8

Hello,

I'm developing a game for quite a while now and also planning to introduce it here. But first it has to be tested.
The current version is a demo of about 5 hours and no one really played it yet ...
So I have absolutely no idea how people are gonna react to it.

Feel free to send me a request to test the game ... I need you! ^
Please tell me if you wanna be an alpha or beta tester. The alpha tester is just playing the game and sees if it's fun an makes at least some sense.
The beta tester on the other hand is checking the functioning of the game as good and as deep as he can, even by provoking bugs.

RPGSS support/ changing drawing layer of message box


RPGSS is a dyn-plugin for rm2k3: klick(dunno if he posted this here too)
With the sprite commands, which you can enter via comments, you can load pictures with alpha channel into the rpg maker, and do stuff like this:

Unfortunately, the developer is no longer supporting the project.
With RPGSS you can(if you can, I can't) write skripts in Lua and use them in the rpg maker.

I appear to be one of the few persons who actually use it, but there are some difficulties too, which could be improved and it would be pretty unfortunate, if it would just disappear like that now and not being used anymore.

here's my problem:
It really is a lot of fun to use sprites with alpha channel. But these are not drawn with the "engine" of rpg maker and they appear on a layer aboth everything else. That means aboth message boxes too. So if I want to add a lightmap to my map, it will be aboth the shown message.
I dunno exactly how to fix this, possibly someone in the rpg atelier is gonna help me. But I wanna post it here too.
I don't really understand the details of the problem, but either the message boxes have to be pulled up, or the sprites have to be somehow integrated to the other graphics.

So I'm searching someone helping me at least to fix this problem, but I could also image having someone by my side for long term support, not only fpr rpgss, but other tech stuff too maybe ...

DEEP 8 composing process

what the hell is DEEP 8? well, thats my game, which I havn't introduced here yet and wont introduce very soon, cause it needs to be translated first and so on.

I recently started composing too and wanna take some time, to get some skill. for this I'm doing soundtracks for different little projects, this is the process, which should eventually be continued in the DEEP 8 soundtrack ...

for now I wanna use this thread to introduce some pieces I make and hopefully get some constructiv feedback to improve.

I don't really try to achieve and some kind of conventional melodies or structures. I also do not have any music basic know how. but I see that as a chance to compose very... "unburdened".
