I feel sorry for people who find SNL and The Big Bang Theory funny. They aren't comedies.

Whyyyy? I have always thought that they are pretty funny :S
1. They are comedies.
2. Looking down on people who find something funny is a waste of time.
Those are two weird things to put in the same boat. SNL has some consistency problems, but they've still got some killer bits.

The Big Bang Theory, well, if you like it you like it, but I think of it as "nerd" culture compressed into an easy-to-swallow traditional sitcom for Boomers, so I'm with you on that one.

Kyle Mooney and Beck are the only ones that make SNL these days. The rest of it all feels like filler?

As for saying these two was because I happened to see both of them at the same time as "greatest comedies of 2017" or w.e kind of thingy.
Of course that's all subjective. I just wanted to make a status that would get people talking since there hasn't been a new one in awhile.

edit: Also, is the 'Actions' new to be able to edit statutes? :o
Why can't they be unfunny comedies?

This is very true.

Last night I had just got off work and feeling sick as a dog. So, this was just me being salty.
Humour is subjective. I kinda like Big Bang Theory. It's silly-funny - deliberately being dumb for the sake of giggles. It's immature, yeah, but there's something inherently lovable about it even with the cringe it induces at times.

Don't take shit too seriously, I guess. I know a lot of 'nerds' don't like it much because it pokes a LOT of fun at the nerdy stereotypes.
I appreciate your concern for my sense of humour.

You're welcome.

@Liberty- It's not the nerdy stuff. It's just very poorly written.
SNL's humor ebbs and flows. It'll be hilarious for awhile, then shitty for a longer while.
Problem is, the ebbs and flows can last decades x_X;

Yeah, the last flow ended when Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Jon Belushi, Chevy Chase, and Steve Martin left.

Yeah, I don't dislike all of SNL. Just the last 20 years or so lol
Be fair, piano. The Will Ferrell years were pretty good too.
Big bang Theory definitely encompases a decades-old representation of "nerd culture"... so yeah, it resonates well with boomers and older folks. I know the show isn't for me, nor is it aimed at anyone even remotely niche on the nerd spectrum.

I think the show knows what it is and who its aimed at.

Ah! Yes! Will Ferrell. I always thought he was about as funny as the fourth Marx Brother.
I.... I don't get the reference ._.

I'm always ragging on millennials for not getting my 80s pop culture references, but you've gone even further back in time than me.

Yeah, there was a fourth Marx Brother (there was actually five, but Zeppo is the only one of the two non-comedians that appeared on film with his three much more famous brothers). His name was Zeppo. He wasn't a comedian. He was an engineer. He played in the first five Marx Brothers movies. He played the guy that you would usually expect to be the protagonist; handsome, heroic, and usually getting the girl in the end, except these are Marx Bros. movies, where the protagonist is upstaged by the bumblers. Yeah, he didn't participate in the slapstick.

I know he's in A Night in Casablanca. I'd swear he was in A Day at the Races.

Edit: And yeah, I've gone all the way back to the 1920s with this reference, so I don't expect a lot of people to get it. But there's never been a better analogy of someone being not funny.

EDIT 2: Okay, so he was in more than five, but the first five are the only ones that he starred in back to back. And he's been a few things besides Marx Brothers, too. All in all, it looks like he starred in about half of their more famous movies. And yes, he was in A Day at the Races. I kept thinking I might have been confusing it for Horsefeathers. Most of these, I haven't seen since I was a kid. A Night at Casablanca is the only one I've seen fairly recently.

Big Bang is 10 years old.

Watch the Marx Brothers they are so great.
