IROG'S PROFILE

Hi all !

I like 16-bits RPGs (especially action RPGs) where you feel the quest behind the lines of code. I also like strategy, puzzle solving, immersive stories, tabletop RPG and LARP.

I'm a hobbyist C programmer who likes to work on custom game mechanics. My very first project was a very basic map generator for Genesia, aka Ultimate Domain https://rpgmaker.net/users/Irog/locker/UltimateDomainWorld.zip

I also want to help developers polishing their projects with my player feedback. So I'll be happy to test your game !

See you around,
Irog

Thanks for your feedback!

Would be a valid hard setting. ^^
That's what happens when developers are the only testers and healing items are not implemented yet.

Arrows + mouse feels a little weird because generally on games you have mouse-aim you move on WASD, would be better to have it at a option if possible. (And because my lame keyboard doesn't have a ctrl near the arrows)
MinST's key configuration menu is something we can reuse in this project.

Fire Emblem 6 - TILoRtQatQfP

I've played the first map and I enjoy your game so far! No bug found yet. <Subscribed>

We'll build collectable healing items to extend player lifetime. The difficulty will be player configurable: affecting enemy HP, fire rate and other parameters. I thought of a way to improve enemy aim that would only be used in the hard mode.

I suck at these types of games, so I didn't get too far.

You're facing a really tough challenge!
Defeating all 24 skeletons of the test map is not an easy task: they kill me when I'm not fast enough. As I programmed those bastards, I must admit that the difficulty is high.

The current download is a gameplay demonstration. It only has one large map to show how the game works. It's sole purpose is to let player test our gameplay and comment on it so we know if the concept is worth expanding.

Red Balloon of Happiness

I updated the images and the download. You now have access to both endings. A walkthrough will help those in need.

Red Balloon of Happiness

Thanks for playing our game. The demo lacks the endings and an indication that you can type answers to spoken questions.

You're the first to get a post with the red balloon makerscore icon!

The Legend of Zelda (Solarus Edition)

author=kory_toombs
I wasn't aware of its history in RPG Maker, but I found the official history:

The Legend of Zelda: Mystery of Solarus DX is set to be a direct sequel to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past on the SNES, using the same graphics and game mechanisms. Zelda Mystery of Solarus DX is the first game made with the Solarus engine and in fact, Solarus was primarily designed for this game.

Zelda: Mystery of Solarus DX is actually an enhanced remake of a first creation, Zelda: Mystery of Solarus. This first creation, developed with RPG Maker 2000, was released in 2002 and was only available in French. The DX project was unveiled on April 1st, 2008. Its objectives are to correct the many flaws of its predecessor: the battle system, the bosses, the use of items, etc.

However, that is hardly all of it as new graphical elements and musics will accompany you throughout the game. This Deluxe version will be the opportunity for players to relive the adventure in a brand new way, or to discover it for the first time if you’ve never played it before!

It appears that the team wasn't satisfied with what RPG Maker could do and made their own engine. And the engine is free, and the terms of use even allow you to make commercial games with it.

It's good to see that my comment raised your curiosity: we both learned more of the history of the Solarus engine.
