[RM2k3] Variable damage in DBS

author=calunio
...So basically, at each turn you'll choose who to damage, and how much the damage will be. The thing is... THE VALUE OF THE DAMAGE DOESN'T MATCH THE VALUE OF THE VARIABLE. It does in the first tries. Not in the next ones.

Are you sure that you have the Variable SET the damage, and not ADD the damage...

If it works right the first time, but not afterwards maybe its accumulating damage..? This would be easy to check by seeing if the damage keeps going up...

Havent tested in my RPG Maker 2003 yet, but about to...

RPG maker 2003 command problem

EDIT:

author=Jude
I don't think that removes it from the battle commands, though. I could be wrong, as I have barely used the DBS.

Oh no, you cant remove it from the battle commands in RPG Maker 2003, only from the menu...

Well, I guess you COULD remove it, but you'd have to do that with some kinda hacker...

RPG maker 2003 command problem

Go into the database...

Click the System 2 tab...

On the left hand side where it says Row click the expand arrow...

And select None...

(A pic to help)

Then you can add back any commands that you need by clicking the expand arrows and selecting them from the list...

Hope this helps..!

What are you thinking about right now?

I'm thinking about if I have enough time to Debug and polish the demo
for Saga of Eternity...

What's your job ?

As for what I do... well, I'm basically a glorified PA and one man call centre for a small plumbing firm... I manage all of the incoming calls and accounts, and kick their arses when they want to end the day early...

I was studying Molecular Medicine as a degree... But an (almost) terminal case of Glandular Fever left me so weak after my first 6 months on the course that I had to come home (seriously, 3 months paralysed, and being left with the bones of a 90 year old is not fun)... What a waste of an 191 IQ eh... lol

My job? SCIENCE!

Seriously, though, I'm doing a PhD in Chemistry (although I focus more on biochemistry at the moment) and there isn't much you can do with a PhD in Chemistry that isn't Chemistry... or at least Chemistry-related.

The UK's first Female Prime Minister had a Chemistry Degree... It didn't stop her... ;)

Cats :D

I use these pics to pic me up on a bad day... :)

Multiple Antagonists

I think that antagonists are under worked most of the time when there is only one, let alone adding more...

An antagonist's journey through a game should be as equally plotted and explained as the protagonists, because at its heart, I believe that a good RPG is one where the story has explained conflict... And to try and do this with more than one antagonist would at best mean the creation of FAR to many cutscenes for one game and at worst would lead to one of the antagonists being underdeveloped...

Its hard to get it right with one antagonist let alone multiple ones...

That being said, I do have a deep appreciation for the way Multiple antagonists were used in Vandal Hearts II... But what I liked there was that they let the antagonist(s) NOT currently relevant have machinations in the background that were expressed by the conversations of the currently relevant antagonists and how those machinations altered there plans...

Ahem ahem...

Hello mate..! Yes I too worry that RPG Maker 2003 might one day get stale in the eyes of the community but so far I think its sill the best...

And welcome to RMN... I rememer Gamingw.net too... Did u release anything back in the day we might remember..? :-)
