Honestly, this game will not be popular enough to justify an online leaderboard. And even if it was, somehow, it would just be name after name all with the score 1000.

The best way to do unlockable stuff based on achievements, I think, is to have the unlockables be things that don't affect gameplay. Unlockable art/music/cat pictures/road runner episodes/etc.

unless the narrative is done using a weird journal or something it doesn't really matter. I doubt the characters are spelling the words out loud.
