I love text let's plays. They're a lot less common than they should be -- especially for indie games.

I love after action reports of Paradox games. There are many creative ways to approach the narrative.
I also like Marrend's LPs, but I usually stop following them half-way through for no real reason.
Hmm, I've never seen a text LP. It does slightly defeat what I enjoy most about LPs, either putting them on the background while doing other things or falling asleep listening to them.
Maybe I should give doing text LPs a shot. They are really useful for developers.
I find they're great depending on your state of mind! It's easier to take breaks or multitask with text LPs for me, to be inspired, they're often wittier or have a more guided, intentional direction than a video let's play, it's a pretty different experience overall... And one that's more accessible to produce as well, since you don't need recording gear or powerful software to record and edit videos!

I would be delighted to see more stuff like that on RMN. I tried Text LPing craze's commonplace book entry but imgur screwed up the image order. I wonder what's a simple solution for saving screenshots and writing on the go. Saving them as files on a folder rather than directly ctrl+v-ing them in a document sounds like a pain.
I sometimes prefer them over walkthroughs or videos since I don't have to play "where am I at" or constantly seek through a video. I can just scroll down til I see a screenshot roughly where I'm at.

OH, okay! I had totally forgot these existed... I remember reading some pretty fun ones about Final Fantasy back in the day, that had a lot of personal commentary & development history alongside them.

I'm not really sure what you mean by a text Let's Play... like, a series of blog posts written as someone plays through the game? Do you have a good example?

They used to be more popular, but you can still find them here and there. Here's an example on a site that catalogs a lot of them.

You know, while I've done a number of written LPs for games I know very well, it just never really occurred to me that I could have written LPs for games on RMN. Like, even in reference to my own stuff. Probably the closest I've come is this?
One of my biggest fears for my most recent game was that it was too dialogue-heavy to be "streamer-friendly". Let's players and streamers for text-heavy games seem to be such a niche thing and I wish there were more of them. :(

Edit: Oops nevermind. I misunderstood what text LPS are
