JPARKER1984'S PROFILE

Hello all, my real name is Jeromy. I'm a video game fan in general, but the way that RPG's make you feel sucked in to an alternate world easily make it my favorite genre (given that the story don't suck.) Aside from that I'm a father and a husband and I work my butt of to take care of my family. I love gaming, but family will always come before anything.

My favorite game... wow, that's a tough one. I'll just list a handful that I really enjoyed in no particular order. Only a handful though, there isn't enough space to list them all.

Disgaea 3 (PS3)
Final Fantasy 5 (SNES, PSX & GBA)
Final Fantasy 7 (PSX)
Dual Orb (SNES)
Breath of Fire 3 (PS & PSP)
Bahamut Lagoon (SNES)
Magic Knight Ray Earth (SNES & SATURN)
Everlong (RM2K3)
Enchanted Arms (PS3 & XBOX 360)
Jade Cocoon (PSX)

[Poll] Battle of Final Fantasy leading men, FF7 & FF8!

The 14 people that voted for Squall probably think Mystic Quest is the best Final Fantasy lol. Just kidding of course, Cloud for the win.

I know a lot about cutting things BTW. Just ask me if you ever need anything cut. I can do it. For a price.

Does that include......people?

Cutting things can be hard to do but it's really something you've gotta learn how to do when you're a creator of any kind.

Great point, adding to that. There's been projects of mine in the past, not necessarily all games. That I've had to cut stuff from and not want to continue that project due to it not being what I visioned at first. Even though I know, I had to cut said feature/part.

One thing I've noticed that at least to me is abundantly clear, when people have unfinished games it seems these games try to do too much like add too many features or whatever and of course this doesn't apply to just RPG Maker games, just fan/indie games in general. There's a fine line that is sometimes difficult to spot. Every developer wants to make a game that people will remember and look fondly on, but they also want to finish the game. A lot of people tend to have a bunch of fantastic ideas which in theory are great, but they try to put them all in one game which can lead to frustration and eventually an unfinished game. Sure that's not the only reason games go un-finished, but it undoubtedly can play a role. How do you guys feel about this?

LOL, funny thing is. I didn't expect much of a reply to this. However, after I made the topic I took to google with the same question. Turns out this very argument is a lot more wide spread then I ever could have imagined.

The one from FF6 still gives me nightmares!

Squall died in disc 1 and the entire rest of the game is his hallucination

Let me re-phrase then, he was speaking as in if they could fight at each characters respective prime, who would win?

Zidane would win.

LOL, but seriously though....who of these two would you pick?

[Poll] Battle of Final Fantasy leading men, FF7 & FF8!

To be clear, this **ISN'T** about which game is better. Now that we're all clear on that....let begin shall we.

So I was playing FF7 and my buddy randomly said....Squall is better. I was like "Oh hell no." He claims Squall would win in a battle to the death with Cloud, here's why I disagree. Bare in mind, these are just my opinions, you're aloud to have your own even though you're clearly wrong if you disagree....just kidding of course :)

1. Cloud is better trained for combat.
2. Cloud has a wider variety of things he can use in the fight.
3. His Buster Sword is large and surprisingly light weight, making it a deadly very deadly weapon.
4. Cloud grew up/lived in far worse conditions then Squall. That could mean he learned to deal to with tougher situations that Squall likely would not have been faced with.

Here's the reasons he says I'm wrong.

1. Squalls Sword may be smaller, but it's also a gun.
2. Squall may be able to take advantage of Clouds mental health issues.
3. He argues that my number 4 reason for Cloud could also work agaisnt him.

Now our conversation was much longer then this, but this is more or less the gist of it. What do you all think?

Ara Fell Review

While I can understand your opinion, FarkasUrdung, I think you seem to have absurdly high expectations. Surely there isn't a well-polished RPG Maker (2003) JRPG comparable to Ara Fell that you would rate higher than 2.5 out of 5 stars, is there?
author=Euphoniac
I can't take such a low score seriously. Maybe the game just wasn't for you. Let's move on.

I would appreciate it if you hadn't scolded me for having an opinion different to yours and dismissed my review with "the game just wasn't for" me and "let's move on."

The game is average, hence the 2.5 out of 5. It has good maps and graphics, but that's all. The story has no message and doesn't make me think. It just designates a person to be evil.

I don't make it a habit to question others reviews/opinions...but this, I have to. I really feel you wrong on a a lot of this.

One I don't see how going commercial made it different. Also about the side quests, the main objective of them is to do something different then the main story. It's not their job per say to advance the story, but rather give you something else to do. I've played far worse games on this site MUCH more deserving of that score.
