Best approach is quality versus quantity, and from there you'll find the balance you will need for the number of chests.

Also here is a tip, if weapons and armor are getting to the point of high level quality you can experiment by giving different effects to each high level weapon or armor.

Like a Weapon that is capable of hitting twice, armor that can give more protection against fire, etc.

Main Game Finished

Congrats, I came to check on you to see where you were at this month. I'm happy to see the main game itself is finally finished.

If I were you, I would just release the main game for now while you're doing post-game content as a future update (this is just in case for you if College Life takes over for another few months). That way it will give players something to bite into, and nobody would potentially have to wait another 5-6 months depending for post-game content.

Least that is how I would handle it IMO.

As for coming up for post-game scenarios, I have a few ideas related to DQ2 and DQ3.

1) After the Dragonlord's Defeat, seek out his son and send him down a better path. Find out the truth about the Dragonlord & learn the story of the Dragon Queen many years prior (The Dragon Queen in DQ3).

There is a manga, but I never read it.

2) Fight against Malroth in his supposed fully powered state (while in DQ2 he was in his incomplete form due to the ritual being not fully powered).

3) Destroy Zoma's Phantom to send him back to hell, maybe his throne room from DQ3 is still intact, but heavily damaged. It will be a interesting "What-if?" if the Dragonlord found out about Zoma while he was staying in Charlock Castle, and he needed the Sphere of Light to taint it's power to revive Zoma & control him with the sphere; however due to your efforts you ruined the ritual, and only a phantom of Zoma was able to roam again and thus only half of his power is present & wanting revenge on the decendent & the Dragonlord (though you already destroyed the Dragonlord).

It will be neat to see a few "throwback" floors & including Zoma's Throne Room that opens up next time you go to the castle, but all in a ruined state.

2016 Progress Slideshow

Looking at the screenshot video alone makes this game worth waiting for. It is very impressive on technical, and sprite levels of creativity.

Also there is the other FF game coming up sooner or later that is equally impressive. It is a good year to be a FF fan.

It's good to hear Paul is doing okay, even though he can't return for the project.

I can help with finding music remixes like I did in the past if that's needed. Plus, I can offer some creative writing and probably small scale spriting, icons preferably and maybe sprites since I made a spriteset for this game quite a while ago (I wonder if it's still used/planned to be used) and the like since I don't feel
like with my abilities I could do those portrait style images for characters.

I can help with the remixes too if he needs it. I have a whole slew of good quality ones from FF1 to FF9. I have not found all the good ones for FF9 yet though. I can provide a few in my RMN locker whenever he is looking for something specific.

The hardest good remixes to find was definitely FF1-3 & 5, but everything else was pretty easy to look for.

For some reason my Panda-Antivirus was treating the runtime item as infected. Not sure what the deal was with that.

Also..isn't that the point of this game to have authenticity? Flaws, and all like the original had? I don't think that should be held against him.

I edited that message a bit if you want to know about some other stuff. Yes, they hired those guys. If the project is pretty ambitious, and respectable then they might contact said individuals for hiring. I wished they had done that for CT - Resurrection.

I would keep a eye on those guys. They sound like they now have a personal vendetta with you concerning how that message came off.

I can't stand holier-than-thou individuals. If Capcom, and Sega have both embraced the fan-scene then those punks have no say in the matter. Those companies realized it does not hurt anything at all. Hell, Capcom even hired the people who were doing the RE2-fan remake. I'm pretty sure they are realizing how much of a benefit this scene is now rather than hurting anything. Though I know in SE's case it's different, but hopefully one day they will see the benefit in it. I think it was a waste of resources they tossed out CT - Resurrection when they could have simply brought them on board as a official project.

Though I found out the real reason why CT - Resurrection was screwed. It was not because of SE, but Dragonball's Akira Toriyama. Apparently he was none too pleased about something. I can't believe it was a artist, and not the company itself directly.
