KARMUNISM'S PROFILE

Hello! My name is Karma, and I am an ENVtuber with a passion for pixel RPGs. Though my favorite genres are horror/puzzle, I enjoying everything else from time to time as well! I have been downloading/playing games from this site since 2012, and I am hoping to make a big step by starting to do serious playthroughs and reviews.

Constructive criticism is always welcome, as I am very new to reviews and such.

His Fragile Mind

I just finished playing, and I am absolutely flabbergasted by the quality. This game made me laugh, cry, and everything in-between. After act 3, I literally had to step away from the game for a moment because I was crying and needed a moment to pull myself together.

You did an amazing job of making the characters and dialogue feel real-- which I feel a lot of games completely miss out on. I felt for these characters and even related to them in many ways which made their successes and failures feel all the more real to me.

I will make a full review, but it normally takes a bit of time. I just wanted to let you know how incredible this game is in the meantime, though.

Edit/Spoiler:
Also, I don't know if this is top secret info, but what is up with the after credits scene?! I feel like I've been left on such a cliffhanger, and I'm so hungry for more info. Are you setting up for a potential continued story? Is it just supposed to be a mystery? I'm dying here!

Nice to see an in depth review.

Yeah! I've been playing these games since probably 2012, and they are a huge interest of mine. I figure I have the experience to give a decent review, and honestly I think more games need them! I feel like a good analysis can really help a game shine through and convince more people to give it a shot.

Having said that, I'm trying to make a habit of doing an in depth review on every game I play from now on.

His Fragile Mind

Hi again! I've been playing through the rest of the game now that holiday stuff is over, and I must admit I am pretty stuck on the and of Act 2. I just need a bit of extra help!

In the final boss with Yulia, I literally have 0 idea what I'm supposed to do. I might just be misunderstanding the instructions, but I can't seem to figure it out. My first instinct was that I needed to find the figure and interact with it, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I've rebooted the game multiple times and ran around the map looking for a bit more direction, but I can't find any.

I'm probably just overthinking things, but any extra advice would mean a lot!

Edit: Not two minutes after posting this, I figured it out. To anyone else stuck on Yulia's boss fight, just spam spacebar instead of pressing it once. Lol

His Fragile Mind

Hey! I just wanted to say that I absolutely love your game so far. I settled on this game for my next game, and planned to just record a little today to test the waters. I ended up playing all of Act 1 and some of Act 2 in my first sitting!

Concept is amazing, and I really feel for the characters. Just wanted to let you know that this is game is a masterpiece, and I'm only a little ways in. Keep up the amazing work. :)

I do let's plays as well as game review videos, and I am super excited about doing it for His Fragile Mind! Once I'm done playing, I'll write a big fat review as well. If you would like to see my playthrough, the first episode is going to be published on friday (12/30)! You can find it here at that point if you want to see:

**GAME BREAKING BUG THAT LEADS TO SOFT LOCK**

Hello! I'm a vtuber who does rpgmaker playthroughs. This game is great and I will be writing a review soon, but I wanted to mention some game-breaking issues I ran into:( I'll go more in depth in a review, but I wanted to give some heads up on the bugs sooner vs later.

This is not the only one I've experienced, but it is game breaking. The other bug I experienced
when going to the office for the first time before the timed scene. Ironically the same spot I'm stuck now. There, chantico's ghost was visible and interacting with her gave the dialogue where she says the song and Alys comments on it not being the same as normal.

I'm currently trying to 100% the game and unfortunately I am now soft locked and won't be able to. Since there are not multiple save files, I also can't restore my game.

Here is a link to an unlisted video that shows what led to the bug, as well as what the softlock looks like while inside. https://youtu.be/5oxxiCzdf54

Here is a text explanation:

I'm going for the last ending with the "flower on the door". I was speedrunning the "mansion" puzzles since I'd already done them prior, and headed to the orphanage without knocking on Lysander's door. This is the only thing I changed in my run (I think? I'll look over footage and update you, as I'm trying to help narrow down where the bug occurred).

Once at the orphanage, all of the lights were on. I obviously was confused, as I had the lamp and was expecting the same darkness as before. I went to Moloch's office and was given a prompt from earlier in the game where I was told to hide under the desk, which was weird. Upon doing so, Moloch came in with sol and I watched the full cutscene. Sol is dead and we are playing as Alys, so the game seems to think I'm in a previous chapter. Upon leaving the office, I'm forced back to the timed scene to find the janitor keys.

This is where the softlock comes in. I can't leave the orphanage, as the gate is closed. I get the prior Eris dialogue. Next I tried using the keys to open the storage area, hoping to have Sol appear so I could kill her again and not be soft locked. Sol never appeared.

I decided to explore to try and find a solution, leading me to the kitchen where I talked to a janitor. This prompted her to scold me for asking about dinner, and for Eris to mention going to talk to chantico.

At this point I'm Alys, with access to the basement, while also Chantico allegedly being alive? All the chapter interactions are messed up. I thought I'd go to chantico's room to prompt dialogue with her. I know the only way to restore my game data is to get an ending.

Well. Turns out chantico is still dead, so I don't know what to do now. The janitor bedroom door is stuck open, the living area is locked, no option to open the password protected door, the janitor closet is locked, there are no npcs, etc. Also, the book of games for blind children is still on the floor in one of the rooms.

Overall I'm super sad to not be able to finish the game. I may have to bite the bullet and completely restart in order to get the first game over, essentially using it to bring me back to a non-corrupted version of the last chapter.

In order to help with potentially handling the bug, I will try to update this page with an unlisted youtube video showcasing how I got to it. Just keep an eye out!
