I have no idea what FFRK is. I don't follow anything new related to Final Fantasy, as I feel that the series went down the shitter after FF9. I gave 12 a chance and thought it was okay at best, and the hype train convinced me to buy 13 and I regret it more than any other video game purchase I've ever made. A friend got me to try the trial for 14 late in the summer this year, and I didn't enjoy it for any longer than 2-3 days (and I love MMOs). I have absolutely zero interest in the 13 sequels or 15.

So I just pretend that there truly was a final fantasy in the Final Fantasy series, and that it was FF9. Everything after it is bad/mediocre to me.

While yes, I agree that the overall quality and a feeling of a Final Fantasy game had dropped since Final Fantasy IX, I for once still enjoy the new titles. Actually, my first FF was Final Fantasy X-2 (by a complete accident) who many fans consider a black sheep of the series, but I still enjoyed it. Final Fantasy IX is by far my most favourite FF title in the series as well, it had excellent playable cast (although Quina and Amarant felt like fillers or something, they weren't interesting for me), and the ending was simply beautiful ("Behind the Door" from the ending is by far the most beautiful music piece I ever heard).

The social games are good mainly for the sole reason they're 16-bit and you can grab sprites from them to use in your games, but aside of that they lack any real substance that was once a staple for the series.

But enough of the gloom! Where are you currently with your progress? Still Lenadia?

I think new titles don't have what it takes. My first FF was FFVIII, which is the one I like the most, due to the GF's and battle music. The story... Nah... I like FFV story... But, just because it's a JRPG, it doesn't mean it set in the future or middle age. I like JRPG's more that I like WRPG's.

And now there's FFXV, that looks a mix between Dissidia and Hyrule/Dynasty Warriors... FFXVI should be like a sequel or a prequel, or even the prequel-sequel of any Final Fantasy, for example 1, 3, 5, 6 and 8...

Don't you guys think the same?

(...)but that would be the most horrible idea to happen. Square Enix is very sensitive when it comes to fan-made content, especially games and remakes, and they instantly shut anything that may imperil their view of "SE is best creator of FF series".

But that sucks, because he could cooperate with Square and it would be impossible to have it in 3D without Square. Like Final Fantasy All The Bravest. It was developed by BitGroove, and it's a RPG that sucks. This would look great if revamped, or re...something?! OK, here's the point, like FF's remakes for the GBA and PSX and PSP, there should be an avaiable version, made by Square, co-developed by UPRC, and it would look great, and would give money to both, most to Square, due to...IDK.
